What people say about us!
Not whispers but actuals
T A Vidyanathan
Congress is confident of winning election
but ?
Despite all odds, top Congress leaders are sure that the Party will
get 150 Lok Sabha seats to head the next Government. If a survey of
the whispersinthecorridors .com from bureaucrats across the country
is to be believed the Congress and the BJP will get less than 100 seats.
Advani gives Monsoon shower to the Congress
Party !
May 31st proved to be a special day for Gadkari led BJP (post Mumbai
executive) albeit in a different manner. For the BJP it was an occasion
to mark its might against UPA-II in the name of 'Bharat bund' called
in the wake of recent petrol price hike.
Amidst protest rallies across the country L. K. Advani's blog came
as a monsoon shower for the Congress party. It seemed a move of the
architect of phenomenal 'rath-yatra' (which took BJP from pathways to
the parliament in 1989) which overshadowed the bund.
Advocating the need for introspection Advani's blog "BJP: A hub
of hope" spoke louder about the lack of hope within the party.
Citing to the whole lot of lapses right from the inclusion of UP's tainted
minister in the BJP to Karnataka crisis and coalition initiative in
Jharkhand Advani put a question- mark on Gadkari's leadership. Advani
by raising questions on Gadkari and praising Sushma and Jaitley warned
that Modi's and Gadkari's joint endeavour claiming supremacy over the
party will worsen the affair.

Intelligence wars to be fought with files
and English language
That the rot is deep within the system of Government is deep is best
epitomised by UPSC which while asking to select intelligence officers
for FIU has chosen to select ministerial officers from EPFO, ESIC and
ministries and rejected Inspectors of Customs and Income Tax on minor
technical grounds. The question is how is UPSC selecting non Group A
officers and how did Department Of Revenue draft recruitment rules allowing
UPSC to select officers for the super sleuth agency. FIU"s experience
may well play out on other Central Intelligence agencies. Intelligence
wars in India will now be fought with files and English language.

Adding to chaos
The personnel branch of any organization should be headed by a regular
cadre officer failing which the situation would be worse as is in the
case of NHAI where neither the cadre officers are being given any weightage
nor the officials of the relevant cadre are looking after the affair
thereby adding to the chaos.

Setback to cadre of IRSE officers
This is indeed giving setback to the cadre of IRSE officers as honest
and upright officers are denied seniority and open line and others too
suffer. I hope now good sense ill prevail on Mukul Roy to get justice
to Rajeev Bhargava who has waited long and in spite of the fact that
very fabric of civil services has collapsed by ignoring the 1st Principles
i.e. Recruitment rule for GM (OL) stipulates benchmark of two clearances
out of 5 years and as I understand Rajeev Bhargava has double the standards
i.e. 4 out of 5 . This is case of injustice and where there is lack
of concern for sanctity of decisions by Chairman of ACC i.e. Prime Minister
and respect for directives of judiciary.

Price of CNG smells conspiracy
The hike in Price of CNG smells conspiracy of the vested interest that
the petrol pumps (owned by Big wigs of Power center of Delhi) should
keep on selling petrol and diesel. If CNG is cheaper it will directly
affect them. This conspiracy should end.

Unwanted advice
Ajit Singh, the 73-year old senior cabinet minister and veteran political
leader running his own political party for decades, certainly knows
what to do with the pilots' illegal strike, as also the Civil Aviation
Secretary who has over three decades of government experience. They
do not require the amateurish advice of a pilot or babu. A pilot may
know how to run an airplane but not how to run a government or ministry
or a PSU Airline, or how to deal with such a recalcitrant strike which
is fatal to their own company.

Abolish vacant posts
These vacant posts should be abolished. Reduction in the number staff
is taking place everywhere and so why not the posts of IAS officers?
