NBCC makes quantum jump in profit in 2011-12 (UPDATED)
National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd. (NBCC), a CPSU under the Ministry of Urban Development, has posted a profit of Rs.289.83 crore for the financial year 2011-12, an increase of 38% and net worth of Rs.795.49 crore, an increase of 22%, as compared to the previous financial year. This is as per the audited financial results of the Corporation that were taken on record at the meeting of the Board of Directors held on May 29, 2012. The Corporation, during the period, has achieved a total annual income of Rs.3595.82 crore. The Board of Directors, in the meeting, has also recommended a dividend of Rs.3.50 per equity share of each, amounting to Rs. 42 crore for the year 2011-12. Vishnu P Das, Chairman-cum-Director of NBCC, while reading out the audited results, said that the company had made an IPO for disinvestment of 10% of equity held by the Government of India, amounting to Rs.12 crore and comprising Rs.1.20 crore equity shares of face value of Rs.10/- each. He also informed that the issue overall was subscribed by 4.93 times and price of the share was fixed at Rs.106. Das also expressed confidence over the company's enhanced financial performance in coming years and a brighter future.

It is a very sorry affair that officers of CPO are getting promotion in time. The DPC is deliberately delayed by the Pers branch where only IPS officers are posted. Cadre officer are at the lower rungs in Pers branch with no say. The Pers branch should be headed by the cadre officers only. MHA should look into it.

Comments of Ms. Arti Khosla commendable

Apropos the comments of Ms. Arti Khosla, I fully agree with her and wish to further state that in order to sensitise our rulers which include politicians, bureaucrats and judiciary to the woes of a common man in India, we require to dispense with the system of providing free transport, homes, electricity, telephones and servants to them. Instead we should pay them a handsome salary so that they spend on all these things from their own pockets and then perhaps would better realise the problems faced by the Aam Aadmi.
