Reservation policy !
It does not make any sense that how best you justify your anti-reservation
stand as to how to stop reservation for certain sections of SC/STs to
curb their growth, on economic grounds or other grounds. It is a fact
that the reservation policy as such is open for both rich and poor SC/STs
and communities concerned can decide, if they wish to for change. Suggestion
regarding better and quick implementation to fill up 15% and 7.5% quota
would be more appropriate and helpful in achieving the goal of prescribed
representation in Government jobs. Most of the readers are deviating
from the main issue i.e. giving adequate representation in proportion
to the percentage prescribed in reservation policy to SC/STs by properly
implementing the reservation policy. Obviously, there have been flaws
in implementation of rules pertaining to reservation policy as there
have been eligible candidates but instead of promoting them and filling
up vacancies, backlogs have been pending, not much done to clear backlogs.
How to uplift poor in India and how to implement reservation policy
are two different issues. People seem to be more concerned about stoppage
of benefits to well to do Dalits rather than suggesting honest implementation
of the policy thereby fulfilling the required percentage of 15% and
7.5% respectively, a task which has been going on pending for more than
50 years now inspite of the fact that India has millions of educated
dalits.
