Time for IAS officers to unite and teach politicians a lesson

It is sad to know how an IAS officer is been treated (Durga). I think it is time for all IAS officers to get united and teach politicians a lesson. Sad to see state of India, where they are treated like slaves when someone want to do something for the country.

Which "Caged Parrot" Needs To Be Released First ?

The Supreme Court is for the release of the CBI from the cage. The Ministers, politicians, gangsters want the officers to be packed back to their cadre authorities, suspended, put on compulsory wait (whichever clever officer coined this expression deserves the Order of Merit of the Crown for beating the British in superior Macaulay speak), AOP (awaiting posting order) or dismissed (as if in the Nawab's/Raja/Maharaja/Shanhanshah's employ). So it needs to be examined where from do the criminals of all kinds draw their "power" to stand up to officers whom they should otherwise be afraid of and even show the cheek of seeking their dismissal. The answer lies in the warmth of the ill-gotten money, proceeds of crime, hidden from taxation income and smuggling money, especially of the hawala kind. The current devaluation of the rupee is due to hawala operations. If the politics of the country is to be decriminalized and transparency introduced in governance in the country, The Income Tax Department (along with all associated revenue authorities)Need To Be First Released From The Cage. The ought to be granted autonomy. Once the parallel economy is controlled by the autonomous revenue authority, the foul mouthed gravy train passengers will come to their senses and rule of law will get restored. there will be no need to de-cage the CBI then. Will the Government or the Judiciary kindly consider it in larger public interest?

Transport Allowance shouldn't be Taxable

As per existing guidelines, Transport Allowance to the extent of Rs.800/- (old TPA) only is exempted from Income Tax. After implementation of 6th Pay Commission Report, however the amount of TPA has been increased to Rs. 200+DA. The Ministry of Finance should issue necessary instructions for exemption of the entire amount of Transport Allowance, which is given in performance of duty.

Disclosure of IPR of government servants

Information regarding Immovable Property Return (IPR) of two officers of MMTC was denied under Section 8(1)(j) of the RTI Act claiming it to be personal information, the disclosure of which has no relationship to any public activity or interest and disclosure will cause unwarranted invasion of the privacy of the individual. The Commission upheld the order of PIO holding that the appellant has failed to establish any larger public interest, which warrants the disclosure of such information.

Comments

The Division Bench of CIC in the case of Shri P.P. Rajeev v. Cochin Port Trust in case No. CIC/AT/A/2008/00707 held that there cannot be an omnibus order about the disclosure of all immovable assets related information of employees of public authorities. The request for their disclosure will have to be considered on a case by case basis under the provisions of Sections 8(1)(j) and 11(1) of the Act.
