Dr K Gopal, presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Chairman, Tobacco Board (Joint Secretary level) at Guntur (Andhra Pradesh). He is a 1992 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.

Shashi Shekhar is now AS, Environment and Forests
Shashi Shekhar presently Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Environment and Forests has been moved as Additional Secretary in the same Ministry in the vacancy of Ms Nandita Chatterjee. He is a 1981 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.

Income Tax for sustaining corruption

I agree with ML Gupta and I wish to add that instead of raising and collecting more income tax from common and working class , for the politician, there should be totally different income tax slab and for the concern minister " where the scam has taken place" should pay more tax and his salary, perks should be reduced to nil , till the scam money is recovered and his property and other asset should be freezed. He is the culprit who has not done his duty.

Steno and Interpreters are now Ambassadors

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has recently appointed two ambassadors - one is steno and the other is interpreter. I must say that Ambassadors can be appointed only IFS(A) and IFS(B) officers in addition to political appointments. Neither this steno and interpreter is IFS (A)/IFS(B) nor political figure.

This is gross injustice meted out to Rakesh Behari. We had seen him an outright, honest, hardworking and diligent officer who knows more than his subordinates be it administration, finance and policy issue. He would not accept corruption at any level. Our sincere gratitude to him.
