Is Finance Minister listening ?

To contain corruption, make all transaction exceeding Rs. 20,000 compulsorily thru credit card/debit card/cheque/draft/online but no cash. Now a days every poor person has bank account based on Aadhar card as most subsidies are direct to bank accounts so there is no excuse that poor person does not have bank account. Please implement and see impact in curtailing corruption. It will reduce the burden of printing of notes and will also reduce the circulation of fake currencies. Purchase of expensive items and expenditures can easily be tracked.

Judiciary should act fast

A simple solution to the problem of the pile up of crores of cases before the judiciary would be to build in a limitation period for the judiciary within which time it has to dispose of cases. These limits can be different for different types of cases. Criminal cases for example, can have a longer limitation, say, thirty years. But why should the judiciary, which is all powerful, keep crores of cases pending before it? It results in dilution of the Rule of Law.

Srinivas Murali

Mandatory requirement for higher Judiciary

Getting first Division/First Class throughout academic career including Law Degree should be mandatory requirement for higher Judiciary.

False claim

Reference to an article published in your esteemed website that 'Steno' are not IFS B. I wish to express my astonishment on this false claim and wish to inform that IFS B consists of PA/Assistants/LDC, who ascend in their respective cadre after having completed seniority norms. All are recruited through UPSC/SSC through competitive exams. Now, if someone unilaterally claims that only specific cadre is the exclusive representative of IFS B, is untenable. Government always exercise due diligence in the appointments of senior posts. And it is immaterial which post or cadre one belongs as long as you are from the concerned department and your ability, education, experience and past records is taken cognisance of. As a government servant we must respect decisions of the competent authority who are mandated to take decisions on such matters and should not make false propaganda demeaning others just for mere self- gains. Thank you.

Stenos and Interpreters- Ambassadors

The writer should have given detail how this is going to harm the relations between the countries. The group 'B' officer who is said to have PA/PS, only becomes competent to become Ambassadors. Do they work directly with the highest officers, are they involved as interpreters where the top leaders of the countries meet. These are the unique opportunities given to the stenos/interpreters who learn how decisions are taken, bottlenecks are removed. They are much more trained by the direct IFS officers and political leaders. Given the assertion by IFS(B), even political leaders should not be appointed, because they appear to be more experienced in carrying out the job as Ambassador. IFS (B) people should not try to scuttle the career growth of this categories alleging dereliction of duties by the department.

Bobby Kapoor

Govt always observes diligence in appointing Ambassadors

Government always observes due diligence in appointing Ambassadors. There is no bar that promoted officials from interpreters as senior officers or promoted officials from stenographer cadre will not be appointed as head of department, head of mission, minister or for that matter any higher post. Once you are promoted to a certain senior level, it becomes immaterial, which post or cadre you belong to, only your ability, performance and service record matters. It is a proof that ability should and of course does matter and not cadre of an employee for future growth.

R K Singh

Only IFS and IFS'B' officers can be appointed as Indian Ambassadors

In the recent post, it is mentioned that only officers of IFS and IFS'B' can be appointed as Indian Ambassadors. IFS is okay, but IFS(B)!!! I believe, IFS(B) join as Assistants and some of them get promoted from clerks and even peons. Ambassadors or Consul Generals must only be from IFS. The whole IFS(B) is a supporting cadre.

All PIOs should keep receipts

All PIOs should keep the receipts and files at their level and frame on their own the response after taking information from their subordinates. Initially there should be no note sheet on the file. Note sheets should start once the Appellate Authority comes into picture. Some Sisy type PIOs submit their replies to their superiors seeking approval, which is not required.

A Srivastava

What can a PIO do ?

What can a PIO do if he is deputed for the job without any formal training and specially when he is overworked? The government has brought an excellent act without any preparations making it go as a waste.

Antony is too smart a person

Antony is too smart a person though externally he does not look so. All this mask about clean image etc are for the gullible public. Last time he resigned from the central cabinet on a very trivial issue, which the press touted as an example of his cleanliness in public life. but ostensibly, it was to torpedo and remove his bete noir Karunakaran from Kerala CMship, which he succeeded. As CM, he had no control over the UPA partners. Muslim League got involved in all unsavory activities like child prostitution, Marad murders etc while other Christian Partner went on encroaching forest lands. People were fed up. In the Lok Sabha elections after his CMship, Congress lost all seats. The benevolent Sonia took him to the centre for two reasons, one she can use him as a clean mask and secondly his religion. What ever may be the Defence Ministry's fault, Antony will not resign this time for his roots in Kerala have already taken over by Oomman Chandy and others. And he knows it well.

Lobbies don't want good people

The reason why posts cannot be filled in Telecom are obvious. The lobbies don't want good people. Kuldeep Singh's orders have not been issued for more than one year. There is neither Chairman nor Member in TDSAT which is paralysed with one member Rastogi who is retiring at the end of this month. If powerful people pull strings, and the Government is unable to post selected persons. TDSAT and TRAI will not be working. Who is to be held responsible?

Tejinder Sethi

Telecom Sector in shambles

The Telecom Sector is in shambles...the Government has not appointed a replacement for a Member in TDSAT who retired in April 2011 till today. The Chairman retired five months ago. TDSAT is managing with one member who is retiring in March. TRAI member retired six months ago. Nobody has been appointed till now. The ITS officers are sitting at home drawing salaries without work. BSNL and MTNL are down to the bone ...with no money to pay even the salaries. The vacant posts must be filled up immediately to avoid further deterioration of the sector which was a success story .

Sachin Kumar Gokhle
