Is Congress' vote catching programs losing
charm?
With the diminishing popularity of MNREGA, the flagship program of the
UPA 1 - mainly the Congress, there are concerns in the party over how
the food security bill will really work. The failure of such a key program
as also farm loan waiver means that it will not translate into votes
for the party especially from the rural poor and small farmers for whom
it is targeted towards, says a person who was part of the core meeting
of the Congress party.
Would BJP embrace Hindutva agenda ?
BJP is caught in the crossroads of whether it should take a calling
in the Hindutva agenda as is being pressured by the VHP and Bajrang
Dal. But Shinde and the Owaisi brothers are doing a good enough job
of consolidating the far-right votes for the BJP without the latter
having to embrace a strident Hindutva agenda, say political watchers.

Don't call it super rich tax
Every citizen of the country has obligation to serve the country in
the manner, which he/she can do. Now seeing the economic condition of
the country and disparity between poor and rich, it has become absolute
essential to tax rich in slab higher than 30%. That is those earning
more than 20 lakhs or more than 1 crore have to taxed at different slabs
may be 40% or 50%. Rich may not mind in paying the proposed taxes. This
is their moral responsibility to pay higher tax if earning more. After
all they are earning in the country only. Poor people earning less than
5 Lakhs may be exempted from paying direct tax as they are already paying
indirect taxes in may ways. Income tax department may utilise the work
force in more productive activities like increasing tax net, innovating
new ideas of taxes, plugging the tax leakages etc. instead of just doing
calculations and assessment of small tax payers. Hardly less than 3%
people paying income tax. Govt. should analyse why so low percentage
is paying tax when nearly 8-10% people may be earning much more than
taxable income. government should analyse and solve the problem. It
will increase tax collection. The government must also consider higher
tax slabs for people earning more than 20 lakhs or 1 crore. It should
not be called super rich tax as in other country. As each country has
different economic scenario.

PIO and FAA should be separate person
Event from the point of fair justice, the PIO and FAA should be separate
person. It is very difficult to judge the intention of petitioner ,
but generally people tend to request lot of unnecessary information,
and formulate same request in variety of ways. There is tendency of
petitioner to take matter to higher level for nothing.
