Is faction ridden Sangh going to play a vital role in 2014 ?

Does Rajnath's elevation have a message ?

Rajnath's surprise nomination as BJP party President contains a message that if the Congress had reposed greater faith in its dynastic system by elevating Rahul Gandhi to post of Vice-President, the BJP is also giving command to someone who has 'son of soil' credentials and is gearing up to 2014 in a different way.

DPC is not God !

How can a Delhi Police Commissioner (DPC) sknow as to what is their in the mind of his subordinate, who suddenly commits crime and derelicts his duty. He is not God. The Home Secretary praised the Delhi Police Commissioner in cracking the case early and not for Delhi Police not being to able to prevent the rape. In India there is one policman for 1,00,000 population whereas in crime prone Italy it is 1 for 989. There is a need to have more policeman, their proper capacity building and better infrastructure for them to perform. Secondly you also need more hospitals, proper medical facilities and rational number of doctors in order to ensure that no time is lost. Government needs money for this, which is only possible if all the citizens especially the citizens of the country especially the Lawyers, Property Dealers, Doctors etc. pay their taxes in an ethical manner. With due respect, why did the Verma Committee did not speak on the subject of reforms in judiciary so that pointedly the criminals cases are resolved at the earliest and the cases do not linger on.

Epitome of efficiency

There are opinions on the luke warm response from the DGPs of the state governments to the Verma Committee. The Verma Committee has of course done a commendable job and Justice Verma, as always the epitome of efficiency, erudition and service to the nation, has again rendered yeoman service to our democracy. Not to forget the services of the luminaries who have served with him on the Committee that bears his name. However, the issue perhaps needs a perspective. Respectfully, it is submitted that the Verma Committee is an independent Committee. If the DGPs had flooded the Committee with responses, they might have laid themselves open to the charge of crowding out public opinion. It is also for kind consideration that had the Committee specifically desired the suggestions of DGPs, perhaps they might have called upon the Government to have the DGPs present their views. If it is deemed desirable, even now, the same can be asked from the DGPs.

Why can't IT Dept Be Tax Payer Friendly?

The Income Tax Department's dictate "Do Not Reply" is disappointingly tax payer un-friendly. Here is a real life case. The IT officer concerned at CPC Bangalore somehow is unable to get the details of the tax already paid and credited to the government treasury and shown in the details in the statement of the income tax payer on the IT department's own website, since there might be some difficulty in the system. So a liability is shown against the individual income tax payer without any justification, necessitating filing of rectification request under section154 of the IT Act1961. To that extent the tax payer is not worried. But the trouble starts when even such rectification application is rejected on the same erroneous ground. The communication from the ACIT-CPC rings frightening bells, especially for pensioners. The telephone numbers given in thecommunication are not reachable at all, adding to undeserved headache. The PR section is located with great difficulty, which gives some numbers, including the Chief Commissioner's number, but none works. It is an exercise in futility. Should the Income Tax Dept treat the tax payers' this way? Does it require foreign technology to strengthen the system? Or FDI is needed? Why should the tax payer be forced to approach the highest in the government for such routine simple things? Why should the tax payer not be able to communicate to his/her assessing officer through e-mail? What is this nonsense of do not reply? The assessing officer has the telephone and email number of the tax payer and surely known that the email is genuine from an existing tax payer. What is the fear in the two communicating through email? The CBDT, if it wishes to be tax payer friendly, ought to order with immediate effect abolition of this archaic practice of do not reply and set the system at CPC Bangalore in order immediately. This is nothing but harassment, deficiency in service and pre-modern India practices of the foreign rule.

Data needs to be analyzed

The data relating to the number of persons availed benefits of reservations/relaxations needs to be analyzed to decide whether to continue reservations or not for those persons who availed the benefits in past. To the best of my knowledge, inspite of lapse of more than 6 decades about 40% vacancies still exist in Group-A posts, the probable reason for that seems half-hearted efforts. It's pity that reserved officers are not allowed to rise to the higher posts as their ACR's are intentionally made below bench mark or they are entangled in false cases.

Anti reservation policy comments

Mostly your website publishes anti reservation policy comments. It would be in the fitness of things if you publish the views and comments which are pro-reservation policy and which suggest better implementation of the policy. You should confine listing news related to transfer of officials for which your website is known otherwise your website will become like Baba Ram Dev whose main job is teaching. Yoga but he concentrates more on lectures on politics during yoga sessions which undermines his importance.
