Vibrant Gujarat' to showcase state as a global
business hub(UPDATED)
With Japan and Canada as partner countries and endorsements from UK,
US and Australian business councils, the sixth edition of Vibrant Gujarat
Summit (VGS) 2013, a biennial event of the Gujarat government, will
be held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar from January 11 to 13, 2013.
"USIBC's ( US-India Business Council) executive mission, comprising
senior US business executives representing a broad range of sectors,
seeks to promote Gujarat as India's global business hub," says
the council's portal adding that under Modi's leadership, Gujarat has
emerged as one of the most attractive investment destinations for American
businesses. The event, which showcases Gujarat as a global business
hub and investment destination, will have participation from some African
countries, Australia, Bahrain, Thailand, Russia, the Netherlands and
Belgium, among others.
Would Badal's be weathering the investment
environment? (UPDATED)
Enthused with the World Banks study reports; declaring Punjab as most
favoured investment destination across the country and as future growth
engine for the country, Punjab govt. is hosting a two days 'NRI Summit
2013' on January 04-05 at Chandigarh and Jalandhar respectively. In
sync with the investment target of one lac crore the summit seems to
aim at identifying and highlighting the concerns of Punjabi Diaspora
and draw an effective roadmap for their solutions.
Perhaps for the first time the NRI Media are being roped in, as partner
in progress; albeit in a catalytic role. Approximately 45 journalists
representing NRI Media would share their aspiration and vision to project
the progressive image of Punjab across the globe.
On January 04 Badals, the CM & Dy. CM, would divulge into the dialogues
with more than 50 representatives comprising sitting and former MPs,
MLAs, Mayors and Councillors from various countries to get their suggestive
for the welfare of NRIs. It would portray the picture of promising Punjab
and in reciprocation it would solicit the cooperation of Punjabi Diaspora
for a futuristic Punjab in line with the 'patterns of progresses' of
developed countries.
Though; the meet would conclude, supposedly, with the announcement
of a policy frame-work facilitating the Punjabi Diaspora; but it also
triggers inquisitiveness whether Badal's are brightening their electoral
prospects in 2014.

'Apply Prevention of Corruption Act to Practicing CAs.
Practicing Chartered Accountants are an important institution of society.
They certify the accounts of any entity as correct. All banks, financial
institutions, insurance companies, govt., courts etc. rely on their
certification. Therefore they are just like an inspecting authority
of Govt. They are not simply private employees. They are independent
authorities. Moreover, they are more vulnerable to corruption in certifying
the accounts as correct because they work for their clients who appoint
them and pay them their fees and therefore they are required to take
care of interest of their clients. The Government should therefore seriously
think of bringing them under prevention of corruption Act so as to avoid
scams like in the case of Satyam computers.

IPS bosses play truant
Not only in the case of non functional up-gradation, in all other matters
the IPS bosses play truant and subvert the rightful dues of the CPO
officers. In matters of promotion also the DPCs are being deliberately
delayed. Even though several ACs were eligible and due for promotion,
they did not hold the DPC in BSF for over one year thus deliberately
delaying their consideration for promotion to the next rank

Shun reservation in all forms
If the reserved classes are so great, why don't we see in any one in
them, the caliber of Robindra Nath Tagore,C V Raman, Hargobind Khurana
, S Chandrashekhar , V S Naipaul , in last 50 years. Why none of them
won us a Nobel in any field?
Sunil
Legal and constitutional injustice to non-SC/ST
About reservations I would like to say that the question is not that
SCs/STs are non-meritorious, the point is that if two-three generations
of a family have benefitted from reservation and have economically reached
a level where they can very well afford to provide good education to
their children at par or even above the level that non SC/ST are providing
or are not able to provide, they should make way for others in their
own community who are economically weaker. Only this will improve the
condition of SC/ST as a whole. As regards reference to Constitutional
provision, it was for ten years. Everybody knows that it is being continued
after 60 years for political reasons. This is legal and constitutional
discrimination and injustice to non-SC/ST. Why this aspect is being
ignored? Are they not citizens of this country? What sin they have committed?
Please think about them also.
