Goof up in Industrial Production Index; Save CSO.

The news item - Central Slip-up Organisation goofs up again with IIP Numbers in ET of June 14,2013, makes a disturbing reading. The CSO has once again mixed up the data and final figures of growth of industrial output. The goof up occurred the fourth time in succession during the past 3 years. First, there was a goof-up in GDP figures due to, possibly, wrong price deflator; second, there was error in calculation of IIP due to use of wrong sugar production figures. And, now, once again, error in calculation of IIP occurred due to electricity data. This time figures were revised by the CSO twice in 27 hours. In the earlier goof-up in GDP figures, it is understood, there was a plan to 'revise' the revised figures, as another error had taken place, in between. But, this was not allowed by MOSPI. The present Chief Statistician of India had assured that a mechanism would be put in place to avoid recurrence. But, the error struck again with vengeance. There is a need to revamp the functioning of the CSO and MOSPI. Whether the CSI should be an Academician or an Administrator or a combination of both, needs to be debated .The contribution of the first CSI, Dr Pronab Sen (who is the present Chairperson of National Statistical Commission ) to the Statistical system was unparalleled. Perhaps. It goes with the incumbent's personality. The moot point is: Whether there is a policy paralysis and poor man management that has affected the morale of government Statisticians? Whether the CSI is running an army of demoralized, frustrated officers?

An endless debate

Babasaheb Ambedkar also dreamt about annihilation of Caste which never happened and that Dream remains unfulfilled, so reservations will continue. Why are people so agitated about Reservations which just forms a small chunk. Look at the way the country is being plundered by the other castes (read scams). This is an endless debate.

Can you please write about the reasons for the postings and transfers of the Commissioners of Income Tax getting delayed for such a long time. I understand there is so much pressure and the FM is not accepting all the pressure. Is it so?

Reservation mania crossing limits !

Reservation mania has gone to the extent that now even states have started asking for reservation in the garb of special status.

Layers in reservation

The enforcement of creamy layer within SC ST community is possible only if caste is abolished in India and inter caste marriages are mandatory, otherwise dalit elite or dalit laborour are equal inHindustan.
