Those not fit should be retired at 60 itself

Government is doing well by extending retirement age of scientists from 62 to 64.The life span and health of individuals have increased and it would have been foolish for the Government to retire scientists at the prime of their life and experience. It would have been a national wastage. There is also urgency for extending the retirement age of bureaucrats from the present 60 to 64.The present retirement age was fixed when the average entry age was 24.With the extension of entry age, the average has become 28.A bureaucrat reaches his prime at the age of 60 and there is no rationale in retiring them off that also when the retirement age of SC and HC judges is 65.But there should be conditionality at 60 for their physical fitness, honesty and efficiency as reflected in their ACRs. All not fit should be retired at 60 itself.

Recent CBDT orders smacks of opportunism

The recent orders of CITs by CBDT smacks of opportunism, nepotism and crass regionalism and casteism. Officers close to the 3 members of the placement committee have got plum assignments and have been retained at Delhi and Mumbai despite no vacancies at these stations while other officers with similar grounds have been thrown across the country. The FM is being requested to look into the orders and see that justice is done by analysing orders on caste and regional basis.
