Regarding Retirement Age
Though it is very sad to know that the Government is considering to
increase the retirement age for Central Government employees. However,
in case, the Government is seriously thinking on these lines, it should
be for all civilian employees. The Government may put certain conditions,
such as, last five years ACRs, health conditions etc.
V S Rana, IIAS, Shimla
Don't increase retirement age
The retirement age of Government servants should not be increased.
The merits of the Scientists could be utilized either on Consultancy
basis by the Government or the private sector. As per the 2011 Census
(120 crore), people in the age group of 1 to 35 years constitute 60%
of the population of India. The country needs to provide job for them
be it be from the private sector or from the government sector (Boond
Boond se Samudra banta hai). If we will not do anything for them at
this stage, then in future we will be faced with monocracy and anarchy
in the country (a la Syria). A demonstration to the effect was evident
from the fall out of the Anna Hazare's fast and Nirbhaya Murder case.
People, one fourth from the grave yard, should serve on free/voluntary
basis for the country and not hanker for anything extra.

ACR doesn't reflects true character
For Railways atleast, the ACR does not reflect true character of the
candidate. More than often, it indicates how efficient (in meeting demand)
and dedicated to his superiors. Objectives of the organisation are secondary

A good sailor !
Even as a bureaucrat MMS was considered as not much above mediocrity
by those who knew him well enough. He was a plodder but he always managed
to foster an aura around him as a great economist. His connections outside
the country had a vested interest in putting him on a pedestal and they
succeeded with MMS being hoisted on the PM's chair. In his bureaucracy
days he was known to keep his counsel to himself till it became clear
which way the wind blew. He was a good sailor!

Reservations!
Not absolutely the upper castes but the Dalits also are equally responsible
for the plight of the Dalits. Invariably the Dalit politicians and officers
are exploiting their brethren in the name of Dr Ambedkar. Constitutionally,
they are not the true representatives of the Dalits, instead they are
against the Dalits. What the hell when the Dalits constitute more than
25 per cent population of the country, they are still beggars. Un-united,
they are spineless and on the crumbs of others. Since Independence,
hardly any Dalit politician has groomed his/her true successor. Except
on the issue of extension of reservations, the Dalit MPs are not united
on any other front. Jay Hind and Jay Bhim !
