On Gayatri's example - poverty - reservation - caste

Scavengers monetarily had been earning more than Brahmins. If money was the issue then all rich Shoe-makers, Scavengers, Dry-cleaners, Luhars would have been studying in Universities in old times, because they earned lots of money in their respective trades but they had no equal rights and social respect. It is blurred vision that you are not able to understand that manual labour worker used to get money in lieu of services but they were deprived of social respect due to their castes. There is nothing wrong in any profession but the wrong was "Hinduism used to connect dignity, respect and social status with your work". Credit for development and growth among SC/STs goes to reservation policy to a great extent, you cannot undermine its achievement by singling out individual cases. Criticism of a successful government policy speaks of heart-burn of a few who try their best to see how to create differences among SC/STs. In a democratic country, all have the right to vent out their feelings but other parties know it well what is in their best interest.

Congratulations
