Who will be acting Chairman of Railway Board ?
The tussle for additional charge of Chairman Railway Board is on. As per past precedence, the senior most member ie the officer who became member first has always been given the additional charge of the post of CRB in the past. With Kulbhushan out of the race due to the CBI charge sheet, Subodh Jain Member Engineering who is also known for his integrity and competence should be the logical and the right choice. However Arunendra Kumar Member Mechanical is reportedly moving heaven and earth to be given the additional charge for reasons best known to him.

Will the UPA Government promote IRS officer ?

Empanelment of 1991 batch IRS officers (C&CE) to the rank of Commissioner has taken place. Incidentally One officer of this batch K Premchand who has been empanelled will retire on June 30. Will the officer get promotion in 48 hours ? One can only wait and watch.

Adding insult to injury

Two have died and many are in hospital after drinking contaminated water in NCERT colony of South Delhi. Little Sanjna one of the two dead was cremated by neighbours as her own parents were also hospitalised. What was the response of the authorities to the sick payment of Rs.1000 to each of the hospitalised to buy medicines! A pregnant woman was given this amount to buy some fruits and medicine. How generous ! This is adding insult to injury. We have become so insensitive to the plight of the poor that we think they are not worth more than this pittance. First we are guilty of providing them contaminated water and then we get away with throwing some peanuts at them.
