Painful news

I saw the report that post of Commissioner, BCAS is being upgraded to the rank of HAG PLUS. What more painful news than this can be ? This post has been dumping ground for disinterested people in past joining at the far end of their service having no previous experience of aviation security. It is high time that this country realises that aviation security is far different than police station policing. It does not involve any criminal investigation. By the time the appointed person gets a hang of it, he retires. Even after spending decades in aviation it is difficult to understand this complex industry. Even one or two officers posted below him come for Indian police service, spend one or two years, manage couple of foreign tours and go back to their cadre looking for greener pasture without any contribution. all these vested interest ensure that they do not allow the cadre to develop for their short sighted aim of clinging to one more post in Delhi etc. for suiting their own vested interest at the cost of national exchequer.
