An overview!

May 5, 2013 Congress Core group met and ruled out resignations of both the ministers PK Bansal and Ashwani Kumar. May 8, 2013 Karnataka results out BJP defeated and Congress wrest control. May 9, 2013 Ashwani Kumar meets PM and comes out smiling secure in knowledge that Manmohan Singh has given him full backing. May 10, 2013, PK Bansal and Ashwani Kumar sacked. So what happened between May 9-10, 2013 which led to the sacking of Rail and law Minister?

The Karnataka results proved that people have little tolerance for corruption and action by BJP against B S Yeddyurappa was too late.

Hence a golden opportunity presented itself for Congress to refurbish image of UPA II in minds of electorate and it needed a scapegoat.

Whoever told PK Bansal about Goat was correct except that in this case Bansal himself was the goat.
It won't be surprising if P Chidamram gets bigger role as he alone benefits if clout of Manmohan Singh is reduced.

False propaganda about CPO's

A lot of false and malicious propaganda about CPO's, particularly BSF is being spread in recent comments. In the first place, leadership of CPO's by IPS officers has brought tremendous benefits to what was intended, in the first place to be a subordinate cadre of officers of the CPO's. Where once upon a time, they were recruited as DSP/Asst Comdt, and could hope only to go up to Additional Superintendent/Deputy Comdt, now there is hope for them to rise all the way up to IG, and even ADG, thanks to the hard work put in by IPS officers to represent them in Govt. Secondly, a lot of lies are being told, like IPS officers are getting NFFU, PB4, etc while CPO officers are not. In the first place, neither IPS nor Army are in receipt of any NFFU scheme whatsoever. Secondly, promotions come with merit, and vacancy availability, and not through magic, even if you are an IPS officer. If the officers who are complaining here are unable to make any headway then they are always free to find employment outside of government service.

How many castes have tracked towards `backwardness' ?

Let us also find out and extract information as to how many castes have tracked towards `backwardness' during the last sixty years. In other words while `forwarding' the backward castes, did it result in `backwarding'- pushing behind of any vulnerable section of the society making them add their credential to qualify to become `backwards' in the process!

India would have seen a civil war

One must be thankful for Reservation. Atleast it has held the country together or else India would have seen a civil war.

S Rao

Reservations are absolutely cruel

I studied in the most backward part of this country. I was born in a poor family. I had no roof in my school ,no teachers no facilities but When I appeared in the civil services I was competing with the sons and daughters of top civil servants who had studied in St. Stephens or JNU, yet they were being given the benefit of reservation. I was a poor Brahmin girl and they were either ST, SC or OBC. None of them could secure marks like me though they had the best possible education in this country. I despite studying in the worst tribal area of Chhattisgarh performed much better than them. What should I construe now ? Who is backward ? a Jharkhand educated poor Brahmin girl or new Delhi educated IAS officer's daughter, a Meena girl or son of a UP landlord, Some Yadav boy educated in Delhi university ? Brahmins in this country are getting worse treatment then the Jews. I know in my Mohalla itself that there are 700 Brahmins and most of them are Chowkidaars, labours, scavangers and none of them gets reservation. Shame on us. Shame on this discrimination. You are punishing these poor guys for some unverifiable social discrimination committed 5000 year ago by their so called ancestors. There should be a clause in reservation. Only people living Below the Poverty line should get it, if at all it has to be given.
