Ranjit Sinha and CBI !
What the opposition and the whistleblowers could not do, present CBI Director Ranjit Sinha has done it by establishing the credibility and showing the authority of the agency. When he became CBI Director, there was a general belief that he would prove to be a weak and yesman. And today the UPA Government has to think of giving an autonomy to the investigating agency. However, Sinhaji must know that the birth of a new child and of a new order is accompanied with much suffering.

Double standards by critics in seeing through Caste & Reservation Policy
Bishan Sharma, A Dalit is not a Dalit because he has availed reservation facility but because he is born in a particular caste. Even if he does not avail reservation facility, society is not going to call him a Brahmin. It won't have any effect on his caste. You have yourself given such examples. You are not Sharma because you qualified certain exams in SSC or UPSC but merely because of your birth in that caste. You will remain a Sharma irrespective of your rank, lowest or highest level of education or job-related achievements. The Caste is ugly reality of ours, you don't change your caste, or it does not disappear automatically even if you attain highest professional achievement. I agree with you in a democratic country like ours, there should be no difference between humans such as Brahmins or Dalits... All should be banned to use caste. One should be known by his ability and worth and strictly not by birth. When you ban caste and make it a criminal punishable offence legally and people stop feeling pride in being Sharma or Dalit, the caste-related reservation policy would automatically vanish. Then, there is no need for reservation policy because the sole motto of reservation policy is to abolish caste system. The shrewd negative examples against the reservation policy and keeping mum on total annihilation of caste by readers only reveal cunningly irresponsible and insincere approach. It would be fairer for readers like you and me to come out openly on complete annihilation of caste particularly when we know that primarily Caste is the mother of reservations and the main culprit for all degradation and differences in society is the Caste and not the policy. Why double standards? On the one hand people comment on doing away with reservation policy for SC/ST and then the same people, on the other hand, don't want to abolish caste system by showing complete ignorance. Why so much of hidden affection for a social evil and so open critical views for social upliftment policy?

Unfettered Reservation for ages
On the subject "Unfettered Reservation for ages", one would like to know how and in what sense was there reservation for jobs for the so called "upper castes" in India for at least the last thousand years when at least for three hundred years India was ruled by the British and prior to that, for seven hundred years, there was Muslim rule in India. The truth is, reservations have created an elite which wants to perpetuate benefits for itself for ever and that is why it is creating myths! But these Vibhishans are actually destroying the youth from their own communities by hogging reservations meant for the
downtrodden.

Now a way of life !

Whisper says some IRS officers are senior to Board Members. This is now a way of life. However administration can assuage their feeling by posting these Chief Commissioners as no1 in important revenue centres like metros, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune etc. as per seniority.

Will CBDT issue circular ?
Will CBDT issue circular for increasing limit of tax exempt income from 5000/ to 10000/ for ITR-1 (SAHAJ) applicability. This will ease out many problems and show Income Tax deptt. is working for simpler tax laws. There is no rationale to put so low limit for tax exempt income limit to 5ooo/. Even interest from saving bank account upto 10000/ is tax exempt then why for filing ITR-1 (SAHAJ) tax exempt income limit is 5000/. CBDT should remove such unnecessary things and work for better and efficient system.

Cadre Restructuring of CSS -
It is hard to understand why DoPT is biased and encouraging disparity by constituting a Committee for Restructuring of CSS and not for CSSS when Cabinet has approved merger of CSS and CSSS. Also, is there any point to pay someone salary of a Director/DS and take the work of a PA/PS. When will DoPT think of institutional and national interest. It is also surprising to note why DOPT is ignoring the Cabinet approval of amalgamation of the Secretariat and stenographers cadres, which will ensure parity and bring about better output from lower level functionaries. Why the higher level babus in DoPT are turning a blind eye to these blatant acts, which lead to prospering of the CSS and depriving CSSS, and eventually harming both, as also the institution i.e. GOI. I don't know when India will be free from these biases in its true sense.
