It all happens in India:
1. Attorney general and Additional solicitor general lie before Supreme
Court and still hold the office of protecting the Constitution of India?
2. Railway Board hiding the truth of PMO orders from Minister railways
in the case of CAT approving the appointment of one of the officers
as GM open line and would have been Chairman today ?
3. Middle men call for the price of lucrative postings in Railway Board
and still the Minister denies any knowledge. Still he continues on post
?

Enough is enough
There is no harm in suggesting that rich and elite among the upper
castes should share the opportunities with their poor brethren. There
is definitely a harm if all the opportunities are appropriated by the
rich and powerful. Otherwise how could it happen that out of seven Board
Members in Railways, five belonged to one particular caste. Upper castes
want the reservations abolished so that they can appropriate the opportunities
so released also to themselves. Earlier they used to argue that instead
of reserved jobs there should be better education for dalits from school
to college level. But they vehemently opposed the reservation in the
educational institutions also. See what has happened with the RTE. Even
the industry has not kept their promise of CSR and hardly recruited
anybody from among the dalits during the last several years. Upper castes
do not want to share anything with the under privileged. Having said
that I also agree that the discussion on this topic should be stopped
as enough is
enough.
Partap Singh
Ideal Country
Can India see the period where society is free from caste, creed, gender,
religion which is also propagated by the Constitution of India. Can
political parties work on these principles and no discrimination on
based of above mentioned points. Let us pray to have such society.
N Prakash
SC/STs will welcome it
The so called elite from SC/ST are competing in the General Category.
It's a pity, not many are aware or deliberately not aware. This shows
their level of ignorance so that they can continue SC/ST bashing. Let
reservations be for all castes in proportion to their population. SC/STs
will welcome it.
S Rao
Caste wise reservation
If we can have caste wise reservation in vital areas like administration
and police, why can't we have it in other departments like sports. Caste
based reservation should be given in selecting our hockey, foot ball
and cricket teams. In athletics if general category has to run for 100
meters, it should be reduced to 90 meters for OBCs, 80 meters for SCs
and 60 meters for STs.
N Krishnan
Anomaly created by GoI
After the implementation of the 6th CPC, again anomaly has been created
by the GoI in terms of the common categories of employees working in
the non-secretariat offices/ organizations whereas the method of recruitment
and nature of duties are same. The DoPT may kindly see the pay-scales
of Stenographer Cadre working in Central Secretariat and non-secretariat
since there is no forum for the employees of non-secretariat organizations.
V S Rana
Blaming each other illogical
I don't see any logic in blaming each other on NFFU for officers of
CAPFs. Since DoPT has already mentioned that they do not maintain any
list of organised cadre as such question of opposing CAPFs officers
for NFFU is illogical. There are more than 3500 officers in BSF with
one Additional DG post. Does it not speak of apathy with them? They
have fought many battles since 1971 including participating anti-insurgency
ops in North East, J&K, Maoist area etc. Many officers sacrifice
their life for the nation. What all they have to show. CAPFs officers
are being deprived of their due since long. The various court judgments
favor their demands. Now it's high time that Government should consider
their demand and implement new policy to grant NFFU to these officers.
Jagat Singh
Unsung heroes
I am also a retired Indian Police Service Officer and feel proud to
had the opportunity to have a stint with CPMFs now called CAPFs. Comments
of A Singh are the manifestation of immaturity of the new IPS officer.
Infact I would ask him to serve with any of CAPFs to learn the art of
professionalism and the sacrifices they have made for national sovereignty.
They are actually unsung heroes guarding the most challenging Indian
Borders and Internal Security. To me Indian government must recognise
their services and must consider their demands. It is irony that due
to certain biased attitude of senior officers their genuine demand has
so far not been considered. Difficulties are many and mere extension
of Organised Cadre to CAPFs will to some extent act as balm on their
wounds. I urge the DOPT to recognise their services as the best in India
and shall make special provisions for their contributions. Unless it
is done on priority, nonetheless, it will emerge a major challenge for
the Government of India to address where the nation is mired by daily
acts of vandalism, rape etc. IPS officers must give up as they are no
match to professional competency of CAPFs officers. Government should
not wait for the orders from the Court to decide rather take the initiative
to accord organised service status before it is too late.
Jimmy Shagril
BSF, CRPF, ITBP are central Armed forces
The central Armed forces are BSF, CRPF, ITBP etc. The preamble of the
acts of these forces defines them as Armed Forces of the Union. These
forces are not Police as their training and operational philosophy is
more akin to Armed Forces. Also let us be clear about the Organised
Services. The highest pay scale required for a service to be recognized
as a Organised service is that of a joint secretary and not Special
or Additional Secretary. In any case, the officers of these CPOs have
reached the level of Additional Secretary. Moreover there are several
court rulings that state clearly that any service having a hierarchy
of ranks and rules to govern the service is an organised service. The
officers have gone to court for redressal of their genuine grievances
and nobody should have any objections to that. As regards the contributions
of IPS officers to these organisations !!!!! Less said the better. They
have left no stone unturned to try and reduce the competence of these
organisations to that of State Police that they command. It is the tenacity
and leadership qualities of the junior leaders that is the saving grace.
All that the Police officers are doing is try and gain cheap popularity
and create reemployment avenues for themselves. If these IPS officers
are so competent, why don't they go and provide leadership to their
own State Police ?

Is it IAS bias ?
This year the PM award for excellence in civil services has not been
given to any non-IAS and any of the central government projects. Does
this mean that none of the central government departments have done
any outstanding projects worthy of such awards? Is it reflective of
IAS bias or monopolistic approach of IAS or their arrogance? Is this
inclusive approach of the so called decision makers? Perhaps this does
not reflect well on the state of affairs and the stature which such
awards ought to have.
