Tenure of Sahay Commission extended
Uttar Pradesh government has extended the term of One man Sahay Commission appointed to probe the recent Muzaffar Nagar riots. The term of the state government appointed (Retired Justice Vishnu) Sahay Commission was till November 11. Now with an extension of its tenure by six months, its term will come to an end in May 2014.

Four IRS-IT officers get postings (UPDATED)
As many as four officers of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) of Income Tax cadre have been given postings. MFL observes Vigilance Awareness Week-2013 (UPDATED)
Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL) observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 2, 2013, as advised by the Central Vigilance Commission. A pledge was administered to all employees by Dr I Vijayakumar, IRS, Chairman & Managing Director of MFL. To commemorate the Vigilance Awareness Week, Guest Lectures by eminent Speakers, viz., Dr C L Ramakrishnan, IPS (Retd), ex-DGP, DVAC, Government of Tamil Nadu, D P Naidu, IRS (CE), CVO-CPCL and M Dandayudhapani, Director, Armoured Vehicles Headquarters, Avadi, Chennai were organized. N Murali Krishna, CVO-MFL delivered a lecture on Disciplinary Proceedings. Besides the above, to create awareness and to involve the youth in eradicating corruption, an Essay competition was held for Class-XI students of St. Thomas Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Manali, Chennai. Essay and Slogan competitions were held for the employees of MFL on different topics. The program concluded with distribution of prizes to winners of the competition by the CMD of MFL.

Really shameful

No amount of regret can wash of the most irresponsible remark coming from a very responsible person. Director CBI may not have intended what he said in the context of betting and rape but the very fact that he could utter such undignified expression shows the mindset of the man vis-a vis women. If our police has such ideas how can we expect them to punish the criminals who violate the female even small children with such heinous acts.
