Donations
Installing statues and paying money to people like the one done in Patna recently are not the objectives for which donations are given to political parties. These donations are to run their party affairs. The parties must start businesses if allowed under their memorandum submitted to the commission to earn and do such activities from that earning.

Why should we foot their honeymoon bill?
Prince Charles and his ex-mistress Camilla are romping around India at Indian tax payers expense. They were photographed offering arati to the river Ganga at Rishikesh. The Ganga is already polluted. Do we need aratis by mllechas to pollute it further? Prince Charles is under a cloud (along with his father) for having masterminded the murder of his wife, Princess Diana. The murder ,in Paris was carried out, according to latest reports, by British intelligence agencies. The motive behind the murder was that Diana was pregnant and expecting a child by her boy friend , the Egyptian, Dodi Al Fayad. According to Dodis father a scan had revealed a daughter and the couple had named her Princess Fatima in advance. When this information reached Buckingham Palace all hell broke loose. For how could Prince Philiph consider having an Egyptian son in law? Prince Philiph is an ardent beleiver in white supremacy like his late uncle Lord Mountbatten, and his sisters were all married to Nazi Generals. This explains the antipathy that he,his uncle Lord Mountbatten and Prince Charles feel for non whites. What is interesting is that Lord Mountbattens ADC in 1947 in India was none other than Major Powell who later became the famous rabid racist Enoch Powell in Britain spewing out venom against non white immigrants to Britain(the rivers of blood speech for example). In India both Lord Mountbatten and Major Powell had worked relentlessly to ensure the partition of India by making rivers of blood flow in communal riots. Now for such a man from such a racist background and his ex-mistress why should you and I have to foot their honeymoon bill? And that too a honeymoon of shameless senior citizens?

DATE WITH RTI

Disclosure must hamper the process of investigation

The appellant stated that he had detected fraudulent claims in the TA Bills claimed by a Superintendent of Post Offices for the period January 2009 to April 2010 and wanted a copy of the note-sheets and the file pertaining to the matter. The PIO's representative stated that an inquiry has been conducted and the matter has been referred to the higher authorities for approval of further action. It was further contended that the matter relates to an inquiry which is in progress
and hence the information is exempt under Section 8(1)(h) of the RTI Act. Appellant argued that the matter relates to misappropriation of government funds which was exposed by him in September 2010 and the information is disclosable to him in larger public interest. Further, the respondents are unable to show any satisfactory reason as to how the release of the information would hamper the inquiry The CIC directed to provide the information.

Comments

The Hon'ble High Court of Delhi vide its decision dated 03/12/2007 (WP)(C) no. 3114/2007 Bhagat Singh v. CIC and Ors has held that the mere pendency of investigation / inquiry is not sufficient justification by itself for withholding the information. It must be shown that the disclosure of the information would 'impede' or even on a lesser threshold 'hamper' or 'interfere' with the inquiry/investigation.
