ECI appoints 111 IRS-IT officers as Elections Observers
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released a list of 111 officers of Indian Revenue Service of Income Tax cadre for the appointment as Expenditure Observers for ensuing simultaneous General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Rajasthan. The ECI has also called a meeting to educate the officers about their assignments on October 7, 2013 in New Delhi.

Telengana at what cost ?
Jai Telengana. But at what cost? I am an outsider though living in Hyderabad for last 20 years. Development of this city has taken place mainly on account of software, real estate, pharma. It is the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu and Rajsekhar Reddy and entrepreneurial skill of coastal belt and Rayalsheema people which made AP a happening State. It is unfair to gift away fruits of their labour to others. I only hope that people from other parts of the country are allowed to live here with the same freedom.

Tacit consent behind exploitation of PSUs
The fact remains that the PSU would not be exploited by the higher-ups without the PSU's tacit consent. You withdraw the facility there could be no demand. It is a matter of indiscretion on the part of PSU/subordinate office functionaries conceding sops to the Ministry people, to what benefit, God knows! Without both hands coming together there could be no clapping sound, is an empirical truth. It is time that subordinate offices come of age so that the malady is wiped out for ever.
