DEBATE (1) Who will make the best Prime Minister in India ?

Sharad Yadav who comes from a farmer background would be the right choice for PM. India's 70% population is farmer. He will not only have the best policy for farmers but will also keep up the moral of business community. He is an engineer and a gold medalist. He understands the meaning of developed/developing nation. He is the most acceptable politician across the party line and most senior parliamentarian in Lok Sabha. Bureaucrats will love to see him as PM. He is the only one who spoke in favour of bureaucrats on several occasions. He was a very dynamic youth leader during Jai Prakash Narayan's time, hence understands the nerve of the youth very well.

INDIA's population consists of 65% youth.

DEBATE (2)

Anyone with a clear majority of his own will make a good PM, else he has to be necessarily lousy, indecisive and ineffective.

ARC Kumar

DEBATE (3)

The mess that India is in, we need a PM who is a mass leader, a statesman and an able administrator. Only a mass leader can lead India. Having the support of corporate honchos is neither here nor there. He/ She should have the support of the masses. Nor is knowledge of Hindi, English or French relevant. He should have been voted to power and not nominated.

Our Doting Prime Minister

The Prime Minister's statement about working with Rahul Gandhi has been dissected, deciphered and desiccated by the media according to their own leanings. The WIC is running a debate on qualities of the Prime Minister for a few weeks now. Well, our PM has almost settled it in favour of Rahul Gandhi. But it should be absolutely clear to all that it means Rahul Only & Nothing beyond that. Not clear? Well, if Rahul is still reluctant, the III term is for MMS. So the aspirants, who had fixed their eyes on the royal 7RCR for almost 9 years now, are in for one more shock. The PM has stated in his understatement: Rahul or I; take it or leave it. The elections are close.

Judiciary acting as an obstruction !

In the recent past it has been seen repeatedly that the judiciary is acting as an obstruction to the disclosure. Delay leads to the information turning stale and hence without any use. It is time that the Apex Court which is the custodian of law, takes a firm decision and roots out delay. Let the judiciary not be villain.

Caste Menace continues in Indian Society

The biggest failure of our country is that despite of completion of 66 pears of our independence from the British, still the caste menace continues in every field (politics, bureaucracy etc.) of our society. In Rigvedic times, there were four classes in society based on the functions and specialization of the people. But later on it was converted into caste, which we are still facing in the society. No doubt education level of the people of our country has gone up, but the mental level is still stagnant. Article 17 of our constitution abolishes untouchability and forbids its practice in any form but it is still persisting in blood?

Declare all assets of places of worship as National Wealth

The vast wealth which is available in our places of worship irrespective of the religion should be utilised for the growth of the nation. Wealth which is not utilised is of no value. All assets of places of worship should be declared as National Wealth and the religious institutions should be paid adequate amounts for their maintenance and upkeep proportionate to their contribution towards nation building. But utmost care must be taken to ensure that such wealth is not misused and does not go into wrong hands.

Kashmir and UN

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly that made the world community smile. A representative from India began: 'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Rishi Kashyap of Kashmir, after whom Kashmir is named. When he struck a rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath.' He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Pakistani had stolen them.' The Pakistani representative jumped up furiously and shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Pakistanis weren't there then.' The Indian representative smiled and said, 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech. 'And they say Kashmir belongs to them...

Disclosure of summary note put up before the Selection Committee

Copies of the biographical information including the academic qualification and work experience of all the candidates which had been put up before the Selection Committee for the post of Principal National Defence Academy were denied u/s 8(1)(e) and 8(1)(j). During the hearing, the Appellant claimed that he should be provided with the desired information if not for everyone else, at least for himself. Respondent claimed that the Supreme Court of India had stayed the order of the CIC directing UPSC to disclose the personal details of selected candidates in any recruitment process vide order dated 11 May 2012 in the SLP No. 8890, 9079, 9085 and 9141 of 2012. CIC ruled that there should be no objection to disclose the summary note which had been put up before the Selection Committee in respect of the biographical information including the academic qualification and work experience of the Appellant himself.

Comments

There is a need for the Hon'ble Supreme Court to take a clear stand on such cases at an early date to avoid piling up of similar cases.
