DEBATE (1) Who will make the best Prime Minister in India ?

Coalition government in India is a norm and coalition politics is here to stay. The Congress style is simple. The PMs are handpicked from amongst the least controversial and the most pliable candidates. Qualities of head and heart do not have even tertiary importance are immaterial. Dr Manmohan Singh is English speaking academician-turned shrewd politician with clarity in thought and support of India Inc.. A good man though; but good -for- nothing PM. Look at the mess, he has created by allowing himself to be remote controlled by his party. Though keen on a hat trick, he has no chance to be PM again. Assuming the Congress returns as UPA-III (God forbid), there could be a wild-card entry by another loyalist or a descendant of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. In a parliamentary democracy, mustering magical number of seats in Lok Sabha and candidate with maximum pliability , are more important than traits identified by Dr Suresh Mehrotra, Editor-in-Chief, WIC to make the best PM.

Allama Iqbal aptly summed up the plight through his immortal words :

Jamhooriat ek tarzey hukoomat hai ke jis main, bandon ko gina karte hain, tola nahi karte!

DEBATE (2)

Please do not encourage day-dreaming. Without an absolute majority of his own any PM will be chicken-hearted whatever party he might belong to.

DEBATE (3)

Giving views on this topic is not a difficult task. In our country we know only the political person can be, will be and would have the right on the PM's seat. One should not get confused by one time chance!

Increase in retirement age

It will be totally against the ethics, if Government of India increases the age of retirement from 60 to 62, as lakhs of our educated youth is unemployed in the country. After passing out from the colleges/universities, they are unable to repay the installments of their education loan to the Banks. Frustrated youth will indulge in unfair and unpleasant activities for their bread and butter. Government should stop this proposal without loss of time. We need not to explain much about the out-put, dedication & salary basket of the Government employees who are near to their retirement age, as everybody in the country knows about this. Government of India should immediately stop the taking old retired staff as consultants and the retirement age of the employees of judiciary, educational institutions and tribunals etc., should be reduced to 60 only. Only High Tech area where efficient people are not available in the country, govt. should consider it upto 62. Keeping in mind, the unemployment condition in the country, the retirement age of Government employee should be brought down to 58 as it was before 1998.

Vapor and steam about India's growth story has vanished !

Suddenly all the vapour and steam about Indias growth story has vanished ! It is like a Gogia Pasha magic show! .The fact is, it never was there. It was all an illusion. It was pure magic. What was being touted as 8%growth in the GDP was simply hot money from America which had entered the Indian stock exchange to make a fast buck. And when better rates were available in the West the hot money fled Indian shores. This is casino capitalism. The owners of this casino are two well known Sardarjis of New Delhi( both resemble Gogia Pasha with their large blue turbans). It is called Pappe da dhaba, a desi fast food joint started by the two sardarjis specially for American tourists. Recently they have employed a madrassi cook called Rajan to improve their service.

Disclosure of summary note put up before the Selection Committee

Copies of the biographical information including the academic qualification and work experience of all the candidates which had been put up before the Selection Committee for the post of Principal National Defence Academy were denied u/s 8(1)(e) and 8(1)(j). During the hearing, the Appellant claimed that he should be provided with the desired information if not for everyone else, at least for himself. Respondent claimed that the Supreme Court of India had stayed the order of the CIC directing UPSC to disclose the personal details of selected candidates in any recruitment process vide order dated 11 May 2012 in the SLP No. 8890, 9079, 9085 and 9141 of 2012. CIC ruled that there should be no objection to disclose the summary note which had been put up before the Selection Committee in respect of the biographical information including the academic qualification and work experience of the Appellant himself.

Comments

There is a need for the Hon'ble Supreme Court to take a clear stand on such cases at an early date to avoid piling up of similar cases.
