If we consider the health condition of Government servants, they are fit even at the age of 60 years. But considering the unemployment situation, it is worth considering to reduce the retirement age to 58. The amount of pension is not bad and if the health is alright, Government servants do take up consultancy work and earn for themselves.

Excess of Statistical officers in government.

Kurup's observation ( Dec 26) is correct . Due to creation of disproportionately large number of posts in ISS, junior officers were given quick promotions without matching increase in workload. For instance ,the number of DG(Special Secretary level posts in 2005 was increased from 1 to 2, ADG(Addl Secretary-- from 4 to 10) and DDG ( from 21 TO 81) in 2006. These are now being further increased to 5,18 and 127 respectively.Is this justified after scrapping the Planning Commission.

Scrap All Services except IAS

My suggestion to Hon'ble PM is that it is better to scrap all Central Govt. Services and recruit only IAS for all the Govt. jobs. Any way IAS are experts of all the subjects that is why they are heading and working in all Govt. departments. Why to recruit officers in other services and then force them to work under non departmental IAS unnecessarily. Public is restless to see fast changes in Indian bureaucracy.

It is exactly more than now one year, and the situation remains the same. File of Vaish is yet to be cleared by ACC.
