Good governance required
Good governance is indeed a need of the day. What the PM is thrusting
upon is all ethical and moral practices which the Bureaucrats and the
citizens must already be knowing. Secondly, if it is to be felt as a
storm, then a silence will must follow, i.e. once the hard yardsticks
are put in place, it will go smooth then.

Is PMO an exception ?
But this ruling does not seem to apply to PMO as an officer of JS
rank, who worked as PS to former PM, has recently been granted extension
upto March 2015.

Govt paying more than enough
I think government is paying more than enough. Have you thought of
people living in villages and who are striving for bread, forget about
butter. Can you justify your earning with reference to the amount of
labour you are putting in. Most of the government servants are living
a comfortable life.

Cong lead govt have demolished culture of honesty
The Congress led UPA-I/UPA-II and the previous Congress governments
at the centre have demolished the culture of honesty of the country
due its corrupt and in transparent misrule. They have damaged the institutions
by posting their pliable cronies in vital places of governance like
CVC, CBI, PESB, UPSC. They have selected most corrupt officials to CMDs
and Directors of majority of the PSUs by taking hefty bribes from them.
As rightly remarked by the PM Narender Modi, the Congress had been allotting
the Ministries for looting to their allies and corrupt officers all
along. There is a big gang of these pliable and corrupt officers positioned
by the Congress in every Ministry and Public Sector who were collecting
bribes from their jurisdiction for the Congress masters. Many of these
favoured officials have been in Delhi for more than 20 years. It is
not very difficult for the new government to identify these scoundrels
and get rid of them as soon as possible. So long as these corrupt people
remain on the influential posts, they will continue to follow the wishes
of their Congress masters to the detriment of the new Govt. As a first
cleansing act, the PM should immediately get rid of all these Most favoured
bureaucrats and CMDs/Directors of PSUs many of whom had paid hefty bribes
to the UPAI/UPAII Govts. to buy the posts of CMDs & Directors and
are working overtime to loot the public sector to recover their investment.
Officials/Officers who worked as the Personal Staff of various Ministers
of UPA I & II need to be replaced by choosing the honest and upright
officers who can be easily identified in each and every department.
Maintaining Confidentiality in sensitive cases is of most important.
Key Policy Changes should be a well guarded secret. It is time, the
present government particularly the PMO issued instructions to all the
new Ministers.

Details of money available in suspense accounts of banks
Complete information together with documents/ correspondence/
file notings on specified aspects relating to RBI initiative for
funds in inoperative bank accounts was sought. The Public Information
Officer (PIO) denied the information on the ground that they had
no information to furnish. The appellant claimed that a large
amount of money is lying in the suspense account of various banks,
particularly the private banks, and information regarding the
same must be available in the public domain. The PIO informed
that information sought regarding the amounts lying in suspense
account is now available on each bank's respective website. Further,
as per the Banking Regulations Act, if the amount is not claimed
for 10 years, the same is credited to Depositors Education Awareness
Fund. The CIC directed the RBI to consider the suggestion regarding
making the details of money available in suspense account in various
banks on the RBI's website also.
Comments
Several RTI activists had taken up the issue regarding the money
lying in suspense accounts and the Reserve Bank of India had instructed
the banks to put this information on their websites. This step
would help many account holders to claim the amount which has
been lying in accounts without any utility.
