Why a senior IPS officer was denied of ADG
berth in BSF?
Well placed sources say that a senior IPS officer missed the bus for

Coincidentally the ADG rank IPS officer was denied of the berth with
BSF. After all he was the choice of the HQ itself.

Arvind Kejriwal is a very astute politician. It is a cardinal error
to think of him as either a bureaucrat or technocrat. He has the capacity
to strategise optimally. He is using it to acquire power. He is playing
to the gallery all the time. His principles are confined to the principle
of populism and geared towards self aggrandisement. Nothing wrong with
that. It is the mistake of the Congress to have let corruption and inflation
spiral out of control which has led to deep rooted cynicism among the
public. So the Public is looking to other alternatives. The Pied Piper
of Delhi is merely using that. How is it his fault if he wishes to piggyback
on the public sentiment to the office of PM? The methods he is employing
are the same as those employed by other politicians. What is so wrong
with that? If he has the ability to fool some of the people some of
the time, good luck to him.

A farce political calculation
I disagree that Pranab Babu be consensus candidate of Congress and
Third Front ? It may be a farce political calculation in the political
circles that, if the need arises, President Pranab Mukherjee may be
the consensus candidate of the Congress and the Third Front for the
next Prime Minister, but it seems next to impossible. Being honoured
First Citizen of India, it will be below dignity for Him.

US is not India !
We forget that US is not India where IAS and IFS are considered
above law. Their immigration authorities will not leave any one however
high they may be if they doubt their bonafides. Rather I would like
to know what action Indian Government has taken against this lady for
flouting immigration laws and spoiling the name of this country? She
has fraudulenly taken a lady from a poor background to work in US as
her slave.

No justification behind increasing retirement age
There is no justification of increase of retirement age when millions
of our youth are without job. There should be a strict review at the
age of 58 and only those who are competent should be allowed to retire
at 60, otherwise 58 is the ideal age of retirement. This should not
be linked to the voting pattern in the elections. The worst thing has
happened in the case of university teachers who hardly contribute any
thing in academics after 60 rather they indulge in politics. Here also
a strict merit review should be conducted after 60.

Basis of fixing the relative seniority of the candidates
The appellant is working as Loco Pilot (Goods) and claimed that
the matter of his seniority has been pending since 2001 when he
was working as assistant loco pilot. He sought to know the status
of his seniority and demanded a copy of the seniority list so
that he knows where he stands in the relative seniority. The respondent
stated that the appellant knows what his seniority is and as far
as the seniority list is concerned, that has also been given on
17.7.2012. The respondent further explained that the appellant
is having a problem with the seniority which is in the nature
of grievance redressal and not a matter to be taken up under RTI
Act. The appellant argued that his seniority was fixed on adhoc
basis without consideration of the marks he secured in the training.
He had secured 83 marks in the training and that his seniority
is not reflecting the 83 marks. The CIC noted that there were
a number of candidates with 83 marks and the appellant wants to
know the relative seniority of all those candidates who secured
83 marks; and the basis of fixing the relative seniority of all
the candidates who secured equal marks. The CIC directed to provide
the information.
Comments
Fixing of seniority has to be done as per transparent norms. The
pubic authority should suo-motu provide such information to the
employees lest they are forced to approach the information commission
for their service related matters.
