Investment or waste for Voters
Election 2014 provides a unique opportunity to the Indian voters- they
can either invest their vote for good government or waste it for bad
government. As the economic media often reports, small investors lose
millions of rupees in inappropriate investments whereas smart investments
yield them good returns. If the voters accepts money for his/her vote,
it will be a one time gain of a few rupees but heavy daily payment in
bribes for the next 5 years; if he/she accepta a bottle of wine for
free for the vote , it will be a one time freebie but will sell him/her
spurious wine for the next 5 years. The corrupt were to be tagetted
this election with such ferocity that many of them would have run away
but a spoof of anti-corruption has provided them a valuable shield which
has deflected all public anger away from them and also managed to monopolize
all media attention and television space. People have the power to give
themselves the kind of good government they agitate for every day, only
if they invest their vote judiciously this election.

They are predators
I fully endorse the views about looting by Matrix Cellular. They are
predators. I was also charged Rs. 9000 plus by them. I had made a representation
to them showing some calls which were aborted as per my Blackberry log
but charged by them . Unfortunately only limited call records were available
by the time the bill was received. In fact for avoiding further surprises
in the form of supplementary billing, I surrendered my SBI credit card.
I also sent a feed back at mouthshut.com. These people are still finding
unsuspecting people to loot.

Is information about dependency of a government employee personal?
The appellant wanted to know whether a particular government employee
has shown her parents to be dependent on her and what benefits
she has availed for her parents. He further asked whether the
government employee was on leave on a particular date and if so,
whether she was on out station leave and the station to which
she had gone. The information was denied as being personal information
which is exempt from disclosure under section 8(1)(j) of the RTI
Act. The Central Information Commission (CIC) held that information
about dependency is not personal. The CIC observed that leave
information cannot be termed as personal information and directed
to provide the same. Further, the CIC held that whether she was
on out station leave on the date and the name of the station is
personal information and need not be disclosed.
Comments
On the basis of information about dependency, an employee claims
certain benefits like LTC, and medical benefits. Therefore, information
about dependency which has been made by a government employee
to obtain benefits is not a personal information. Whether a government
employee is on leave is not personal information, but the name
of the station where the employee went on a holiday is personal.
