Whispers finds place in books
creating political turmoil
As a matter of proud
for all our surfers, who have faith in what we publish, whispersinthecorridors.com
finds place in the two most talked about books these days - The Accidental
Prime Minister by Sanjaya Baru & Crusader or Conspirator ? of PC
Parakh.
The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh's former Media Adviser Sanjay
Baru while narrating about the events that occurred during the run-up
to his reappointment (which finally did not come) in June 2009 has mentioned,
in his book The Accidental Prime Minister - about whispersinthecorridors
( on Pg. 267) saying - "A few days later whispersinthecorridors.com
reported that I would be returning to the PMO".
Similarly, former Coal Secretary PC Parakh has in his book 'Crusader
or Conspirator ?' , on Pg 142, mentioned about a report which appeared
in the whispersinthecorridors.com on March 2, 2005. The report is related
to repatriation of Parakh to his parent Andhra Pradesh cadre when the
then Coal Secretary, according to him, was not getting full political
support of his ministers and the PM was also finding himself helpless
in coming to the rescue of the 1969 batch IAS officer because he (Dr.
Manmohan Singh) required the support of the said ministers to run his
coalition government.
This speaks about the credibility that whispersinthecorridors has earned
over a period of time and how much authentic its reports are in the
opinion of the 'decision makers' of the country
Which political party is poor
?
There is a general discussion in the public. "Which Political Party
is poor the Congress or the BJP".

SBI sets up rural self employment training
institutes across India (UPDATED)
One of the great challenges what our country is facing today is unemployment,
more particularly in rural areas. This is posing serious economic, social
and political challenges for the country. Rightly understanding its
gravity, as a premier banking institution of the nation, SBI is continuously
attempting to address to this issue through its various Banking operation.
As a multi corner approach to face this big challenge, SBI has set up
Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) across the country.
RSETIs are non-profit institutions established and maintained under
Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility activity with the support of
State and Central Governments. The objective of this institute is to
generate self employment in rural areas through proper training and
by facilitating in settlement in vocations. RSETIs are imparting comprehensive
quality training in personality and skill development areas to the rural
youth and it facilitates them in settlement in vocations. Settlement
is facilitated by enabling the trained candidates to launch profitable
micro enterprises either with or without the credit linkage from financial
institutions. Also they are facilitated to secure wage employment in
their skill areas elsewhere. As on date, SBI has established 116 RSETIs
across the country and most of these RSETIs have been established in
geographically and socially challenging areas. Taking this noble cause
further forward, SBI has decided to extend the benefit of RSETIs to
the physically challenged individuals who are the most under privileged
section of the society. As a first step towards this direction, on 26th
April, 2014 SBI through its 3 RSETIs has entered into a tie-up arrangement
with EnAble India in the state of Karnataka. EnAble India is an NGO
working in the field of development of differently abled persons to
get their real potentiality recognized in the society. In the presence
of Chairman of the Bank Mrs Arundhati Bhattacharya, Dy. Managing Director
Ashwinin Mehra, Dy. Managing Director Dr M G Vaidhyan, and Dy. Managing
Director N K Chari, an MoU to this effect was exchanged between RSETIs
and EnAble India at State Bank Local Head Office at Bangalore. The objective
of the Tie-up is to enable persons with disability to attain economic
and financial independence. By bringing RSETIs and EnAble India together,
Bank intends to take RSETI initiative to new heights.

EC can't be moral torch bearer of political parties.
EC cannot function as the moral torch bearer of political parties.
If a candidate is a scum, it is the job of the opposition to expose
it. If he/she is not a scum ,there are other avenues like legal remedy
for redressal.Bofors,Submarine,helicopter,2G,CWG..All should be exposed
and those involved should be brought before the electorate. Congress
is using certain medias from airing it. The more than loyal media is
calling it personal attacks thus preventing such exposures.

Accessing priced publications under the RTI Act
The appellant filed an application under the RTI Act seeking copy
of all printed publications, published by National Library Kolkata
since its formation, along with a soft copy of all publications
in CD. The Public Information Officer (PIO) informed that it could
be supplied against payment of their cost price along with the
requisite postal charges. The appellant claimed that he is below
poverty line in view of his confinement in jail since 2006 and
demanded that the information should be supplied free of cost.
The Central Information Commission (CIC) ruled that the publications
sought by the Appellant cannot be regarded as information 'held
by' or 'under the control of' the public authority.
Comments
Unless an information is exclusively held and controlled by a
public authority, that information cannot be said to be an information
accessible under the RTI Act. In many orders, the CIC has ruled
that once an information is brought into the public domain by
means of a priced publication sold through book stores, the said
information cannot be said to be 'held by' or 'under the control
of' the PIO and would cease to be an information accessible under
the RTI Act.
