Now an eye on property in Dubai

With reports pouring in that bureaucrats and others from India are now making huge investments in Dubai - instead of keeping their money in Swiss Bank, investigating agencies are now keeping an eye on their property in UAE.

Amar .. Akbar .. Antony

I take the 6.52 Fast local from Churchgate to Andheri.... its my regular.... train...compartment and my regular companions Amar, Akbar and Antony ...who are already seated

Amar: Kem cho Bhai..
Me: Saroo.... Good evening and copy to all... arre Amar I tried the place you told me about .. yaar they serve unlimited Sambar with Idlis...it looks somewhat like Sambar ....tastes quite a lot like Sambar ...but it's Chana Dal mixed with Toor ... Channa Dal is cooked and passed through a Blender ..
Amar: Jugaad...the place is run by a Gujarati ..these Dal prices are really killing ..
Antony: Che Man ... I am suffering from Beef withdrawal symptoms ...
Akbar: Woh bhi dinn theh jabh humm snacks mein bhi beef khaate theh... abh toh khaane mein bhi Beef naseeb nahi hotha...
Amar: Toh .... see the secularism...you cannot eat Beef because of the ban and we cannot eat Dals because of prices .....today too it's going to be Veg Ching Soup with seasonal veggies....Ramdev Baba Noodles for Dinner..
Me: Arre I do agree Dals are hitting Aam Budgets badly ...one of the reasons why BJP lost in Bihar was because of Dal prices...Akbar yaar Buffalo meat is allowed that is a variant of Beef isn't it ...why are you after cows???? Respect the sentiments of people who consider Cow to be like Mum...and even Constitution mandates Ban on Cow meat.... isn't Pork banned in many Countries where Muslims are in a majority ....
Antony : Buffalo meat ...it's not the same man...... anyway when I go to Goa I gorge on Cow Beef....
Me: So there .... maybe in due course after some time Government may allow controlled sale of beef in minority dominated areas...because be it Prices of food or food habits ... Mandir Masjid ko choddo akall hai kehti....Aastha Gareeb ke paapi pett (tummy) mein hai rehti....
Amar: Think of Country sometimes is what I say ...
Antony: Fuel prices are falling but if you compare with neighboring Countries our fuel prices too high!
Amar: Yes.... yes .....
Akbar: Both have ..fill it and forget it mobikes.... (mockingly) think of Country sometimes!
Me: See you must also see the FE rates .... also Fuels give Government a revenue of approx 35% .... maybe Government is hell bent on keeping deficit in check....also look at our misuse of Fuels .... Government is the biggest bleeder....Mobile Towers. .. DG sets ...SUV ... and do keep in mind ours is a election driven economy ... say in coming time if Oil shoots up and there are elections ....State or Centre ... Government will be forced to give up some revenue to keep prices in check....
Akbar: Rondhu hai dono .... by banning beef Government has infringed on our ...religious needs ... we have to do Zabaa..
Me: Zabaa... murghi...duck.... goat ... sheep ... buffalo ....ka karro.. where does it say only Cow??
Antony: Che man both these guys are cry babies ... Boss interest rates .... why is Government so hell bent on cutting interest rates .... arre I depend on FD income ..
Amar: Merre ko deh deh... 18 takaa biyaaj doonga.... (whispers to me) I will get 24 takaa and make 6 takaa (rubs his hands in glee)...
Me: Buss gayi bhains paani mein...
Akbar: Chalo paani se nikaalo ... zabaa karro ..pakao aur khao..
Me: Oye just Beef is on your mind ...Antony take him to Goa and let him get over his fixation. .. arre never fall for these high interest schemes ...tailor made to rook ... Corporates are crying for lower interest rates... NPAs are rising .... I think before reducing rates Government needs to reduce NPAs drastically .....also don't forget a big boon for Indian Economy is our penchant to save ...max Indian rates can go down is by 1.5% ... so check out what impact will it have on bottom lines of Corporates if interest rates are not brought down by 1.5%......
Amar: Bhai but my Broker friend was saying if interest rates are brought down Sensex would shoot up..
Me: For Stock Markets the biggest reason to celebrate would be that Public would save less and invest more in MFs .. Stocks ..and ..and ..and ... Jaitley needs to look at the American Economy ...and he would realize ultra low interest rates can also damage growth...there 0 is ultra low and in a saving economy like India 6% would be ultra low..
Antony: I want to let FM Jaitley and RBI's Raghuram know about plight of small saving dependants like me ..
Me: For Jaitley try Twitter ...but send the same Tweet to Modi and Rahul... in your tweet to Rahul mention your minority status ....for him this would be the trigger ..not the issue ... for Raghuram ... well he has a Fan Club in Mumbai .. Shobha De is its karta dharta .....give her your message .....though he does not acknowledge this Fan Club on SM ...but I am sure he keeps tabs...

Political Gimmick

Arvind Kejriwal govt has successfully shooed into the troubled water of environment pollution by proposing odd/even theory on alternate days. The questions are --

1.Under which law/rule ?

2.Can he make law/rule as his authority is limited to only propose ?

3.Does he have machinery to implement it with just 50 personnel in Enforcement wing of Transport Deptt, Traffic Police not with him ?

4.Is it not another chapter to target/defame Central Govt on such sensitive issue that has touched the highest in the judicial echelon of the country ?

5.How is he going to address two/ three wheeler that are equally responsible for pollution ?

Very well done Arvind Kejriwal. Congrats and hats off to you.

Transparency in PESB selection

The recent selection of a few candidates of PSU's are questionable. The honest, qualified and relevant experienced candidates were not selected. Will PESB post selection criteria along with recommendation in their web site. Will PM look into such things ?

Sashank

Analysis on WIC on odd-even Car numbers needs to be considered by the Delhi Government before rushing to implement it. The biggest polluters are the DTC buses and large trucks. When one is near these vehicles on the road, one can see them spewing pollutants. It doesn't needs any pollution check. If only the Delhi Government ensures to maintain their pollution levels and also carries out pollution checks on vehicles, the problem may be addressed without much ado.

DATE WITH RTI

Duration of inspection of the documents

The complainant submitted that the PIO had allowed the inspection of the records in question for 15 minutes only and that too with the condition that the entry to the building for the purpose of inspection shall be at the discretion of the security agencies. The FAA directed the PIO to provide access to the records to the appellant in such a manner that the purpose of the application is fulfilled. The complainant alleged that the PIO has been persistently causing obstruction to supply of the information to the complainant despite the orders of the FAA. The PIO contended that he made effort to get file located which was more than ten year old and had given prior intimation for inspection of documents. The complainant admitted that he has been provided the requisite information though there has been a delay and demanded to be compensated. The CIC held that due to communication gap, there was a delay in the inspection of the file by the complainant and no further action is required.

Comments

The duration of inspection and convenience of the applicant to inspect the documents was the issue under consideration in the case. Under RTI Rules, an applicant is entitled to one hour inspection free of any charge and thereafter, on payment of fees. A PIO should not restrict the timings of an applicant arbitrarily which may lead to a charge of obstruction to free flow of information.
