What message is Modi giving to the public ?
It is a traversity of the anti-corruption ideology which he always boasts
of, that made Modi attend the superbash marriage of the grand children
of Mulayam and Lalloo. Every one knows that both Mulayam and Lalloo
are a rags to riches story both feathering their own nests through their
long political career through corrupt means. Both are facing corruption
charges and both are roaming free due to the benevelonce of the prosecution.
What message is Modi giving to the public who elected him mostly on
his anti-corruption crusade?

Call AAI staff back
Airports Economic Regulatory Authority was established in 2009 as one
of the statutory body of Civil Aviation Ministry. All the posts of AERA
should be filled on deputation basis. But filled on LOAN BASIS and called
from AAI. The Chairman of AAI Srivastva is ignorant about this. AAI
staff deputed in Airports Economic Authority since 2009 and hide in
AERA. They are getting salary and perks of AAI, promotions also. But
transfer orders are not implemented on them. Chairman of AAI should
call them back in their parent cadre.

AAI in a mess ?
Why Staff of Airport Authority of India are deployed in various bodies
if Civil Aviation Ministry? Why staff of AAI are not working carefully
on their seats? Why AAI staff hide here and there? Why AAI staff are
giving service to others instead of own department ? Is Chairman unknown
about this?

Are the Supreme Court and Parliament
buildings safe?
The appellant sought certified copies of latest Fire Safety Certificates
issued by the competent authority to buildings of Parliament and
Supreme Court of India which was denied claiming that the information
was related to sensitive buildings and could not be disclosed.
The Central Information Commission (CIC) called for the concerned
files from the Delhi Fire Service department for perusal. After
examination, the CIC observed that questions like 'whether fire
safety certificate was issued or not, what was the advice of the
respondent authority regarding fire safety' are 'safety' related
questions and not security threatening. Ignoring fire safety issues
would raise security concerns and it is a grave matter of life
of hundreds of Constitutional office holders, hence the information
sought is matter relating to life which should have been answered
within 48 hours. Expressing concern over the public interest in
the information request of appellant regarding preventive measures
and implementation fire safety norms in Supreme Court and Parliament
Buildings, the CIC directed the Fire Safety department to take
a serious note of fire safety lapses in the aforesaid buildings
and directed to appraise the authorities in Legislature and Judiciary
about necessity and importance of taking the measures recommended
by them. The CIC also directed the Fire Safety department to inform
the appellant and the CIC why they have not performed their duties
as prescribed under The Delhi Fire Services Act, 2007. Further,
the CIC recommended to the Fire Safety department, the PIO of
Supreme Court of India and Parliament of India to inform the appellant
and the CIC regarding the measures initiated by them to comply
with the safety standards/ safety recommendations against fire,
within one month from the date of receipt of the order.
Comments
While RTI Act has been known to be an instrument to obtain information,
this case law shows how citizens are using the Act to question
the actions of a public authority. It provides a route for the
citizen to seek the reasons for omission to perform the duty on
the part of the public authority.
