"Cop is not a thulla"

Slangs like Thulle, Pandu, Mam , Mama are used in lathmaar Hindi for cops. Thulla means jobless. A cop is considered idle with no work. But, such sobriquets with pejorative connotation are normally used by criminals. Kejriwal should have been discreet and dignified while addressing a public meeting. Two Delhi cops have already filed suits for criminal defamation against him.

Right step in the right direction

Delhi CM providing Thali for Aam Admi at subsidised rate of Rs 10/-. Subsidy will be met by Delhi Government. It is good step at least the poor in Delhi get their meal at subsidised rate. The same thing is happening in Parliament Canteen where subsidised food is provided to MP, Ministers, canteen staff etc. not to general public but Delhi CM has proposed for general public where anyone can take food. Good step, keep it up.

Vyapam-like cases in other states also

CBI investigation has started in Vyapam case. With past experience of previous two years, I feel Vyapam-like situation is rampant in other states too, particularly in medical admissions. Only thing is that so far nobody has raised it. Be it Karnataka, Maharashtra, UP, Haryana, Bihar, Odisha or Jharkhand. Therefore, no political party should accuse each other. In other selection process too, everyday Vyapam is being enacted. How can you justify 69% yadavs in selection of Darogas in UP? Like Vyapam in UP and Uttarakhand also booking of seats for MBBS admission start in Sept-Oct itself for private colleges. Admission tests conducted are sham only. If you have not booked seat beforehand, your name will never appear in the list. Booking of seats mean exchange of hefty amounts and the seat is confirmed.

Police slang

Amit why is no one willing to accept that AAP govt is a democratically elected govt by Delhi people. Hence, no other agency (LG, Home, Police) has the right to somehow keep troubling Delhi govt and preventing them to do bonafide work for Delhiites. Let public decide whom they want to run Delhi govt. Lets respect democracy. Jai Hind. Jai Bharat.

Steel sector needs overhaul

I fully agree with Pras that the steel sector needs a complete revolutionary overhaul. Public sector money is involved in steel plants in India and the profitability is very poor due to bad management. Best would be to privatize partially.

Harish Kumar

Steel sector

This is regarding overhaul of steel sector. It is very much true that PSU's of this sector need a thorough overhaul. Many top executives had forged age certificates, qualifications, corruption and frauds etc. There is price tag for promotions, transfers etc. The organisational structure is just like an inverted pyramid. There are offices located in metros and it is sheer wastage of public money.

DATE WITH RTI

Filing of RTI Application to know the fate of earlier application

An application was under the RTI Act seeking information regarding action taken on an earlier RTI application and first appeal filed by the Complainant. A reply was sent to him on but the Complainant stated that he did not receive this reply. The Respondents volunteered to send another copy to him. While noting that no further action is due on this RTI application, the CIC observed that the right course of action for an RTI applicant, in the event of the PIO not responding to his RTI application, is to file an appeal to the First Appellate Authority and thereafter, if necessary, an appeal / complaint to the Commission. Instead, the Complainant took upon himself to enquire into the delay on the part of the Respondents in responding to his earlier RTI application by filing yet another RTI application. Filing of such applications is avoidable because the RTI Act provides for appeals / complaint process in the event of unsatisfactory action by Respondents on an RTI application. Such applications needlessly clog the system.

Comments

RTI act is a self contained act which provides for the mechanism to deal with cases where replies have not been received. An applicant should use the modalities provided under the Act which can provide him the best results.
