DEBATE (1) Retirement Age
I do not think there should be any retirement age. Your health should
bee fine, you deliver and stay as long as you are accountable and worth
delivering with long term vision for the nation. Since w.e.f. 1.1.2004
government job is non pensionable, India must follow hire and fire policy
especially for the civil servants who run the nation.
Harish Kumar
DEBATE (2) Retirement Age
The debate on retirement age clings on two ategories.First one says
retirement age should be made to 62 just before I retire at 60 so that
all my seniors will retire by then. The other group mostly younger men
wanted it to be brought down to 58 so that it can be raised to 60 at
the time of his retirement. Please stop this futile debate. We have better
things to debate.

DEBATE (3) Retirement Age
I had been reading lot of suggestions about retirement age reduction
and status quo. I feel instead India needs accountability in the government
job than this. Those who deliver may continue till they deliver and health
permits.
Harish Kumar
DEBATE (4) Retirement Age
Those who are looking for their first jobs would be happy to support
any kind of age reduction - be it 58 or even 50! This is simply because
they are desperate to get into a job. But the truth is - the attitude
will definitely change once they get a job. After reducing the retirement
age, the number of new retirees is going to stabilize again. Will the
Government resort to such tactics of reducing the retirement age again
and again? Another important reason to support the reduction of retirement
age is the claim that it would bring younger blood into the various
central government organizations. The fact is - in the past eight years,
the number of central government employees all over the country has
continued to be around 30 lakhs. Supporters of the "younger blood"
theory couldn't possibly know that nearly 50% of these employees are
youngsters. To be accurate, the employees who had joined central government
services after 01.01.2000 now account for nearly 70% of the central
government workforce.

DEBATE (5) Retirement Age
Yes remove dead woods but how to define dead woods? Are we talking
about committed upper bureaucracy?
Prakash
DEBATE (6) Retirement Age
Retirement age should be reduced to 58. Review of performance to be
done at 55, whether to retain the officer or not. This will bring in
objectivity to govt service.

It is the time to restructure the PESB, so that qualified sincere and

Prime Minister: Kind attention
It is for the kind attention of Prime Minister of India that misery
of Pensioners about availing CGHS facility in NCR region was brought
to the notice of New Health Minister remain unattended even after two
months. It is simple and reasonable request to permit CGHS beneficiaries
of pensioners category for direct consultation in CGHS empanelled hospitals
as to visit Govt. hospitals and standing in Q is painful and troublesome.
One is having eye problem or orthopedic or Gynic problem, it is impossible
to stand and wait for the turn to visit doctor in RML or other govt.
hospital. There has to be some solution to this problem for the people
attaining age of 65 years and above. Please look into the problem sympathetically
and permit them to visit CGHS empanelled hospitals directly for consultation
without any reference. Medicines will continued to be issued by dispensaries.
Good wishes for Makar Sankranti.
N Prakash
S.K. Singh you are talking about aware. Even if you break your head
you will not get any copy of instructions/rules in this regard. In the
name of dependency of one spouse over the other government is being
fleeced. If your father is staying with you, was retired government
employee of some other Government say State/UT and availing a pension
of Rs.3500/- will not get Medical and LTC benefits. There is definitely
illegal which is going on and the Government is being be-fooled.

Records alleged
to be destroyed in the floods
The appellant sought to know whether flood inundated the respondent's
office premises in the year 2009 & 2010, if so date and location
and the details of the documents destroyed during the flood inundating.
The Public Authority responded that the relevant records were
destroyed by floods to which the CIC expressed unhappiness observing
that the office is not near to any river for this kind of natural
calamity. The CIC asked to find out what records were destroyed
in the flood (if there is any flood) and inform when it occurred.
The CIC further directed to examine whether it is possible to
reconstruct those files by collecting the information from different
sources. The CIC held that it an inquiry is required, the Public
Authority may set up such Inquiry Committee immediately. The Commission
directed to issue a show cause to the PIO why maximum penalty
cannot be imposed against him for making casual, unfounded claim
of 'floods' without any reasonable data, which amounts to denial
of records.
Comments
The order is an indicator of the poor record maintenance practice
and the fact that the PIOs are poorly equipped to deal with the
implementation of the RTI Act.
