It is a total myth

The feeling that IAS officers are all the time thinking how to put down other services is a total myth. Having been in the IAS for more than three decades, I can say with confidence that such a thought has never occurred either to me or a large number of my colleagues.

Why just Group A services should have parity with IAS ?

Why just Group A services should have parity with the IAS and not Group B Services? Group B services are also recruited through the same exam. This question has been raised in your forum.

The IAS keeps coming up with illogical arguments to perpetuate their colonial hangover.

The reason whu Group A services have parity with the IAS (though the IAS has managed to withhold the consequential benefits to Group A Services recruited through the common Civil Services Examination) is obvious. Group A services are not only recruited through the same examination as the IAS, notably, they are also recruited in the same pay scale as the IAS. Group B services are not recruited in the same pay scale. Notably, at the time of recruitment, in the junior time scale, the IAS does not enjoy any edge over the IPS and IRS. This was a consciou decision of the 4th pay commission (as a consequence of the change in the pattern of the examination in 1979) and was to be extended over a period of years, to higher grades, as the post 1979 batches rose in seniority (so that pre 1979 batches of the IAS, who came through a different system were not put to disadvantage due to subsequent changes). Unfortunately, the IAS managed to avoid this by hook or by crook. The nefarious designs continue till this day.

But the day will come, when the oppressed will raise their voice and get their legitimate due. PM Modi will do justice.

Typical bureaucratic working of MoD

It is a fact that NFU upgradation of more than 80 IDSE officers of MES with 23-26 years of Group A service are waiting for Non Functional Upgradation to the SAG Grade, due wef April 2016. The DPC is shuttling up and down at various levels for the last nine months. Peers of these officers in other Group A Engineering Services have already picked up functional promotion to SAG grade long back but these officers do not know whom to approach as MoD is one such ministry where even Jt Secy is not easily accessible. RM is requested to intervene please.

GoI should ban sites like facebook !

The facebook is trying to make fun of people by screwing their personal details and asking what did you study in Delhi university and why you had studied in Rajasthan and during what period. I fail to understand why Indian government allow sites like this in India and encroachment to privacy/anyone listening ?

Action taken by Bar Council against Advocates

Information regarding the number of complaints against the advocates under section 35 of the Advocates Act for the past 10 years, the number of cases that were disposed of, the number of advocates alleged to have committed misconduct or unethical conduct as provisions of Advocates Act, 1961 etc was sought. The CIC directed the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh to furnish the information sought. The CIC further directed that the action taken under Section 35 by the Bar Council should be published under Section 4(1)(b) of the RTI Act on their own without anybody asking for it. The Commission also directed the First Appellate Authority of the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh to show cause why disciplinary action cannot be recommended against him for not taking up the first appeal of the appellant. The CIC observed that though the Bar Associations are different from Bar Councils, they are also constituted under a law made by Parliament, i.e., the Advocates Act, 1961. They too have a duty to inform the people about their activities.

Comments

The Bar Council is a statutory body constituted under Advocates Act 1961, to protect ethical standards of Advocates and admonish the members for misconduct. This order has implications for all similar bodies which oversee the professional conduct.
