What people say about us!
Demonitization by PM and Whispers
The idea of banning high denomination notes was published by WIC
on Feb 22, 2010 and again in March 2010.
http://www.whispersinthecorridors.com/news.html
The two news items in the above context were written by N Natarajan
and was published with a question of Political Will ! Now action by
the Prime Minister has shown that such political will still prevails
in this country.
POLITICS
This is History (446)
The Tsar was a liberal monarch.
Will Arun Jaitley move as Foreign Minister ?
The active participation of Arun Jaitley in the Heart of Asia Conference
is being seen as his new role as Foreign Minister. Sushma Swaraj may
be appointed Minister without portfolio because of her health.
Top leaders and bureaucrats to go to jail ?
In the Modi's scheme of things, the day is not very far off when 8 to
10 top political leaders and bureaucrats will go behind the bars.
Minister and Secretary both need to be obliged in states ?
It came up during a discussion of businessmen that while in the Congress
regime Money used to be paid only at one place in the states, in the
present regime Minister and Secretary both are required to be obliged.
"Demonetisation - a boon for Banking Industry"
Known for having showed her acumen in various segment in the banking
industry, Mrs. Trishna Guha, who is presently Executive Director in
Dena Bank, is of the view that demonetization - brought in by the Modi
government recently - would be largely beneficial for banking industry.
In an informal chat with the Whispers In The Corridors (Editor- Sanjay
Sharma & Vice President - Abul Hassan) during her recent visit to
Bhopal, Mrs. Guha said that with huge increase in deposits following
demonetization, banks will now not be compelled to borrow money because
of rise in low cost deposits.

Didi kuch toh sochcho...
I'm in a Coffee Shop and I happen to meet a very old friend who is
a part-time Political Analyst ...full time Stock Broker. I invite him
to my table for a Cuppa and we get chatting.
Friend: Something seriously wrong with Didi .... such reactions ...is
it Political or is it that Demonitisation has hit TMC very hard...otherwise
how do you explain her reactions ..attacking the Army ..... or making
an Air travel emergency into a conspiracy. ...Rijuju has rightly said
...Indigo Pilots are not Al-Qaeda types ..... she's made a laughing
stock of herself ...
Me: Badhi Didi toh Badhi Didi ...Badhi Didi ka Gulaam subhan Allah...
have you heard her current Bonpu Derrick O'brien....I think the Ex Quiz
Master needs a IQ test ....
F: As it is she had Modi Schizophrenia. ..and now it's just gone horribly
horrid!
M: I think she is now our Conspiracy Didi!!!!
F: And she's so desperate that she is willing to mend bridges with her
arch enemies ...Commies ...has she forgotten the past ...what she says
Commies did to her ....
M: Politics is also a great eraser ....
F: I really loved what David Cameron said at a Summit in Delhi ...he
actually hit the nail on the head... Indianeeds to fight corruption
....increase the penetration of Banks ..and of course Digitization.
..
M: And the informal sector becoming formal....
F: A Gora Economist at the Summit said Demonitisation would not have
a big effect ...I'm sure he under-weighed malaises like corruption and
Black Money ...Terror Funding and Counterfeiting ..
M: Yes ..why have all the stone pelters disappeared... why have the
Black Money ruled Sectors gone quite ....
F: And on Counterfeiting I have a theory ....estimates about Counterfiet
quantum were grossly undervalued ...estimation was done via Notes in
Circulation (random samplings of 250 Notes) ...what about the huge chunk
that is stored in Kashmir and remains locked up for extended periods...its
the gateway and stock point for Counterfiet Notes distribution to the
rest of India...and then there is news that in recent months Paki Counterfieting
Machinery was working overtime ...
M: They say 26% of our Economy is Black ... there's cash ....but locally
more is in Land and Real Estate and Gold ....
F: Yes but the Grease or Facilitator is Black Money in cash ....
M: And what about these reports that already 14 lakh crore value Notes
have been exchanged or deposited ..
F: Hogwash ...as on 28th November as per RBI the figure was 8.45 ....
and as on 28th November 45.27 % has still to be deposited ...I feel
there will be a shortfall of about 2-3 lac crore... total 1000 and 500
value is 14.44 lac crores + Counterfiet currency ..
M: But post November 8 with the rush Banks must have accepted a sizeable
chunk of Counterfiet Notes too...
F: Yes...so whatever the final deposit figure of Old Notes comes to
...a certain percentage should be deducted as Counterfiet money...because
Counterfiet currency is not included in the Value of 500 and 1000 Notes
in the Circulation figure ..which is 14.44 lac crores. ..
M:What's wrong with Baba Ramdev...he says Mamtha is PM material ...did
he mean Pathetic Minister ...
F: I think he's positioning himself to be the peace maker ....after
all its said ...fear an ignorant man...in this case woman ...more than
a lion ...in this case lioness ... and nothing works better on a a Egoist
than good old Makhan...
M: Ha ...ha ....now coming to your real expertise ....where are the
Markets heading ...
F: I always tell people who dish out expert opinions ... if stock market
experts were such experts, they would be buying stocks, not selling
advice ...actually Markets can fall on a sneeze and not rise on the
best of news...
M: Chalo yaar getting late ....
F: Before we part ..a joke for the road .... there's a pic of Modi and
Wrestler Khali...someone has given it a Caption ...Khali and Khalbali...

Post retirement benefits only to IAS officers ?
Why should post retirement benefits be given to only IAS Officers. however
efficient one may be. This clearly shows that the officer has no passion
for arts, music, literature and sports. In the pre-independence era,
every ICS Officer eagerly awaited for post retirement period as they
were very talented in Golf, Cricket, Journalism and Music. The current
crop can only slog for 12 hours a day to please the bosses. I know many
officers close to the Minister sit late till 8.00 PM just to draw the
attention of Ministers and not to finish the work. Eight hours a day
is too long a time to finish all the work provided if he or she does
not indulge in gossips and hanker after foreign trip. The very concept
of offering post retirement benefits to chosen few is highly detrimental
to the efficiency and calibre of intelligent officers.

Grievance of a railway pass holder
A retired Master Craftsman claimed that despite being eligible
for first class pass, the Railways had not been honouring several
clauses related to the journey performed by a pass holder. He
sought Information regarding rules relating to privilege passes
issued to railway employees. The Commission observed that under
the provisions of the RTI Act, 2005, only such information as
is available and existing and held by the public authority or
is under control of the public authority can be provided. The
PIO is not supposed to create information that is not a part of
the record. He is also not required to interpret information or
furnish replies to hypothetical questions. Similarly, redressal
of grievance, reasons for non-compliance of rules /contesting
the actions of the respondent public authority are outside the
purview of the Act. Further, the CIC observed that the appeal
relates to the grievance of the retired employee regarding utilization
of railway passes and lack of awareness and sensitization of the
work force dealing with such matters. This aspect needs to be
re-examined by the competent authority to provide relief and succour
to the affected retired employees in an objective and transparent
manner.
Comments
Even though the redressal of grievance is outside the purview
of the RTI Act, it has been frequently used to obtain some relief.
The Information Commission has been sympathetic to injustice metered
through a system which is not objective or opaque.
