"Modi has no parallel"
-Prime Minister Narendra Modi who till a little less than two years
ago was beloved of the majority might be losing charm in the opinion
of some people but the question is that does any one else including
his opponents - Rahul, Mulayam or Lalu - have any charm ?
This question came up in the wake of response of the surfers of whispersinthecorridors.com
who were asked - "Is PM Narendra Modi losing his charm ? Is he
a changed man ?" While some replied in the affirmative, majority
did not agree and some of them even asked who else among Indian politicians
can stand parallel to him and suggested 'to see the things in the right
perspective'.

Who is taking Cue from Whom?
In the political circle three top politicians are taking cue / following
each other. Grapevine is that these three have very cordial relations
and following each other's programmes, schemes and steps to run the
government in their respective domains. Who are these three top political
leaders, its a matter of guessing.
Budget aayo re...aayo re
Today after a gap of a month I travel by 5.32 Fast train from Churchgate
to Virar ....my stop is Andheri....with my train Buddies... Amar.. Akbar
... Antony. To make up for my absence I treat them to Coffee and Mongini
Cakes..
Budget aayo re...Budget aayo re..
Akbar: Budget aayo..
Amar: Why you sounding fearful....
Me: Hope you've not indulged in Betting on the Budget...
Akbar: Nahee Bhai... I only bet on cricket..
Antony: Liar liar ... he can even bet on what colour shirt one of us
will wear..
Amar: He bets on derivatives..like what colour will be Jaitley's attire.
.. how many sips of water he will take. .. how many disturbances...
will he sit down while reading budget.... will Kharge sermonize....will
Rahul go to sleep....will Sonia signal to her lot to create a shindy.
. etc etc..
Akbar: What worries me Jaitley seems to be in a mood to shift Bank savings
into the risky category.... he wants bulk of savings to shift from Banks
to Primary and Secondary Markets..
Amar: Chal Jhoota .... Markets would be up by 1000 points even if he
was harbouring such thoughts ... he wants interest rates to come down..but
he knows cannot be drastic..
Antony: But he wants to remove the indirect subsidy to the rich in PPF...
Akbar: Arre your money gets stuck for 15 years... and you earn interest
and save on I Tax...he seems to overlook this..he is taking the tax
saved as money earned. .
Akbar: Before he became a Minister in 2004 its rumored Jaitley wound
up his practice and invested his money in RBI Bonds ... there is interest
subsidy on RBI Bonds too... why did he not invest in Primary and Secondary
Markets...
M: Because we are Indians and our motto is Safety First ... that is
why Sub Prime and other Global Balloons have not affected us ...money
saved cannot always be construed as money earned ....like if I save
money and walk to Office rather than taking a Cab..the saving does not
add up in my taxable income..
Amar: I hope he's given due attention to Farm Sector and Infra..
Akbar: In his Cabin he needs to put up a poster on ....India Shining
and why still BJP lost...its a sad reality...
M: You can say what you want but it's my firm belief Modi will be our
PM for 13 years continuously ...
Antony: Oh Lord...
Akbar: Ya Khuda ..
Amar: Jai Shree Ram...
M: Bolle Soh Nihaal... Sat Sri Akal

Make reservation rules tough
We have to make reservation rules tough and strict. Only then the deserving
people will be benefitted otherwise things will be difficult to manage
in future. I am afraid to say that anarchy will prevail if this problem
is not handled seriously and tactfully.
Ashok Chadha
Reducing retirement age and providing reservation is no panacea
The Government jobs provide a very meagre percentage of jobs in the
country i.e. in between 1 to 2 percent. Reducing retirement age and
providing reservation is no panacea to all the ills of jobs in the country.
More and more industries and service sector will have to come in the
country to provide jobs. People will also have to be self-employed.
The youngsters running away to the cities for jobs leaving behind their
farms should be told to go back in their nuclear families wherein they
will be looked after properly. In order to make their agriculture business
viable Government will have to step in by providing water, proper seeds
& fertilizers, mechanized farming facilities, better roads and air-conditioned,
transport arrangement and storing facilities.

What is a Horse and What is Donkey
The recommendations of 6th CPC were so excellent that all the government
servants irrespective of designation were inspired to work as a horse.
But, now the recommendations of 7th CPC is such that, surely when implemented,
certainly they may be transpired into a donkey, losing all the inspiration
which they got from the 6th CPC. Who will look into this ?

Fraudulent withdrawal from bank accounts by cloning of ATM
Appellant sought information pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal
from bank accounts of various customers including his own by cloning
of ATM. He stated that in most of the cases, the money was refunded
by the bank and in some cases including the appellant's, the money
was not refunded. The appellant sought the names of account holders
in whose case the money was refunded and the reasons for not refunding
the money in the rest of the cases including his own. The PIO
informed the appellant that the amount had been paid to all those
customers whose amount had been withdrawn through ATM fraudulently
who had account in their branch. The payment could not be made
to the appellant, because he had account at the JP Nagar Branch,
Bangalore and his case had to be settled by that branch. He further
informed that the matter was taken up with the Bangalore Branch
for payment to the appellant. The CIC directed the PIO to provide
the copy of their letter through which the matter was taken up
with the Bangalore branch, advised to resolve the issue and intimate
the action taken to the appellant.
Comments
The case provides an example of how an ordinary citizen can make
use of the RTI Act for the resolution of his problems.
