Govt needs to be strict

The news about an IAS officer arrested for asking for and accepting a bribe in his very first posting shows the real state of administrative services in the country.
it would not be wrong to assume that all new entrants to IAS must be having at the back of their minds that IAS is just a lucrative career - not to serve the country but to make loads of money. This is matter of complete shame for the entire cadre.By implication, the malaise must be all pervasive in the entire hierarchy. The more sincere, honest members with integrity must reflect seriously and do their utmost to change the prevailing state of affairs. Even the government needs to become very strict.

Not IDBI alone but SBI too

A fair demand for action against Bank officers complicit in squandering 900 crore or more of public funds on Mallya has been raised. For an officer the banks demand security of more than 125% and more but for Mallyas of India they open their chests. But nothing is gratis- they get huge cuts in such loots. Just check their statements of annual property and other assets. Can anybody dare?

Who is the Nodal Agency to implement educational concession for SC/ST students?

Appellant submitted a copy of UGC circular dated 19.08.2009 vide which all the universities receiving grant-in-aid were asked to provide reservations to SC/ST students & sought information about its implementation The CIC observed that the UGC is passing the buck to Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) and MHRD was saying that information is not available. The CIC directed the UGC wing of MHRD and UGC to collect the information from the universities / deemed universities about implementation of extended reservation and concession to SC/ST students in Self financing courses offered by the respective institutions & provide it. A show cause notice was issued to the PIO of HRD to show-cause why maximum penalty should not be imposed for non-furnishing of complete and correct information to the appellant.

Comments

It is sometimes seen that some organisations issue circulars without providing for a means for its monitoring its implementation. It makes little sense for an organisation to issue a circular if its implementation cannot be monitored.
