Attention Finance Minister

It is brought to the attention of Finance Minister that Income Tax Department is sending notices to the people whose income is less than taxable income citing various reasons of mismatch asking for compliance more than 5 years. Once compliance is submitted then real harassment starts by asking irrelevant information. It is requested such harassment to specially Sr. Citizens should be stopped. Once income has been declared less than taxable income no point of asking the information. This is way of handling the cases physically by income tax department. If it is dealt by CPC then no problem. By sending notices only to call tax payers at their office and are treated in unfriendly manner. Make the tax compliance simple and have friendly environment in office so more people can join tax compliance. It was thought that information will be asked from the people whose income falls in taxable slabs but reverse being followed. It is not clear that whether such instructions have been given to ITO for issue of such notices. It is presumed that Notices are only being sent to show that so many notices have been sent to widen tax net. Please concentrate man power and intelligence for the people having taxable income more than 20 lakhs. If some has purchased MF of 50000 then again notice is being sent if he has not filed return. Return is required to be filed only when income exceeds the exempt limit. Develop faith and tax friendly environment and stop harassing small tax payers.

Many had false age affidavits passing engg at the age of 18 years and do service 39 to 42 years. Tempering SSLC certficates. They loot public money. Agencies like vigilance, gives clean chit. They will not send Hyderabad based truth labs, only God save this country.

DATE WITH RTI

Proof of Dispatch

The Appellant had asked for certain information about a bank account. Before the CIC, he claimed that the PIO had not responded to the appellant within the time frame prescribed under the RTI Act. The CIC observed that the PIO had sent a point-wise response to the appellant within the stipulated period and directed the PIO to provide proof of dispatch to the appellant.

Comments

A PIO should not only provide the information to an applicant, but should also keep a record of the same lest a charge of not following the time limit is made against him. In case of failure to provide the proof of timely dispatch of information, penalty might be imposed on the PIO.
