Gora aur Kaala
I'm with my CA ….. he is proficient at his job, is very street smart and has a fantastic sense of humor. He orders oversweet Gujarati Tea and Sookha Bhel and we get chatting.
Me: PC ko kyaa hooaa hai…. they say his IQ is Super High…. anyone with such an IQ would easily deduce that Demonetization is very good for the Country!!!
CA: Boss IQ kyaa karre….. yeh toh intention ki baat hai!!! I think many would say Intention honni chahiye to reduce the Black Money! During his stint as FM what steps did he take to attack Black Money ….here and overseas!!!!
Me: No wonders many who have been hit badly …meaning the Black Moneybags …. are saying…. Congress rule is any day better….. they eat and let us flourish too!!
Me: PC does not give any solution …just criticizes …. Congress is taking the line that this was an unplanned step…. fact is planning was there but it's a step where any Government would have been in un- unchartered territory… viewing the volume of Notes and the Black Money!!! In 1978 only 20% of the Notes that were demonetized came back!!!! And then the demonetized Notes were less than 10% of the Notes in circulation!!!
CA: And if the News had leaked out this would have been an exercise in futility…. PC laments 86% of liquidity has been sucked out….
M: If the Water is filthy the Ghadda has to be emptied and then fresh water has to be filled!!! Now luckily in another Ghadda there was Water that looked drinkable …. 10, 20 , 50 and 100 Notes and these are being used and 'Fresh Water' is being infused!!!
CA: Congress's way would have been …. Print Notes…. give Notice about expiry of Notes….. and all would be happy…. and the problem would remain!!! On Paper Congress would have attacked Black Money and it's Pally Media would have hyped it as if it was the decision of the century!! And of course credit Rahul Baba...he forced MMS and PC to take action!
M: Pertinent questions …. who allowed this problem to get so humongous!!!! Who Printed Notes without giving a thought about the nefarious usage …. why was the Currency Printing so Lopsided that 500 and 1000 constituted 86%!!! Actually, the formula should have been 50:50…. 50% High Value…. 50% Working Currency!!!
M: And now they say Demonetization has not succeeded in any Country!!!
CA: It succeeded in US during Nixon's Regime….. there too the reasons for the Demonetization were pretty similar!!!! And USA did not print the demonetized High-Value Currency again…. at least not till now!!
CA: And now a rumor is being spread… it'll take 6 months to print and replace Notes…. ATM recalibration will take Months!!
M: On a Business Channel Deepak Parikh of HDFC was interviewed and he said it should take two weeks to recalibrate the ATMs. On Printing…..I don't think it'll take 06 Months for sure…especially once the RBI owned Presses get into action!!!
CA: Arre PC ko bollo … you submit a plan on how you would demonetize and have a similar effect!!! Not a friendly demonetization!! And Government should work on a White Paper on Black Money … its genesis , its spread and the volumes!!!
Me: How can some deaths attributed to the Demonetization be compared to Uri martyrs!!!
CA: Boss yeh logh desperation mein toh kuch bhi bolle ge….. desperation and scoring Brownie Points with High Command…. High Command that uses terminology like Maut ka Saudagar and Khoon ki Dalaali would appreciate this idiotic comment!!!
Me: And now they are talking about the money spent by BJP in the previous General Election!!!
CA: Yeh bhi White Paper mein daalo …. who started this… who started Party Fund…. arre today there is one Party that is very ambitious to gain ground which is now cancelling its intended participation in some Polls…. Paisa nathi ( no money)!!! This step will have an effect on this malaise too!!
Me: So now what will Opposition accept… to let Parliament run!!!
CA: Rollback not possible….. proactive Government already taking steps to alleviate the pain… I think they'll accept PM's presence in Parliament …. that will be their face-saver for them!!!

Welcome step !

Congratulations to the PM and his team for the bold step taken to demonetize ! All right thinking people are welcoming the step and as an ex secretary to govt , I feel specially good that after along long time , we have a leader who is taking steps in the interest of the country. However I must caution that steps should simultaneously be taken that cash transaction is minimised and steps are simultaneously taken that people again do not start hoarding the new notes, which will defeat the very purpose of such a gigantic exercise. Already many people are out to sabotage the system. Wish best of luck to the efforts.
