It can be quite appropriately retorted that Chatterjee does not know what he is talking about. The point made was that the politicians have no business to appropriate credit for a purely military operation for political gain, with a view to influencing the outcome of impending elections in certain key states. Surgical strikes have happened before too, but the politicians of the day never tried to claim ownership. This is something never done in case of covert operations.

Relation on shaky grounds

ITS have usurped wireless service

ITS was created to propagate landline services in India. But since then they have managed to usurp the functions of the wireless service of DoT and mischievously managed to took upon then the wireless work as well. The cadre was declared surplus by the DoPT but still they are managing their cadre review despite the objections of the DoPT. The 6th pay commission recommended their abolishment but they again managed their survival. Post corporation of the telecom sector they should no role in the government but their posts appear to be increasing with the latest cadre review. Clear example of maximum government and minimum governance.
