POLITICS

This is History (409)
The rift between Ulster in the north and the rest of Ireland had widened.

Two English speaking politicians are great friends

Two English speaking politicians Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Arun Jaitley are great friends these days. People say personal relations between the two are perfect and cordial.

At last ex- UP congress Chief say good bye to party

As reported in this website in May this year that one senior Congress leader of UP is all set to say goodbye to party, now Rita Bahuguna Joshi has declared her intention openly . It said that senior party leaders are not happy with the way party is being run in the state. They are unhappy by the suggestions given by Prashant Kishor.
(We said this on May 21,2016)

Mrs Joshi from SP to BJP
Former UP congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi was at one point of time reportedly thinking to join Samajwadi Party in UP. But according to sources after the family feud in SP, she made up her mind to join a national party BJP.

More Cong leaders in UP to leave the party?
According to political sources some more senior congress are leaders likely to follow ex- state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi in days to come. It said that many leaders have complained to the high command that Prashant Kishore is working towards the Congress mukt UP.

Doobta Jahaaj....

My neighbor who is a Congressi drops in for a Cuppa and discussing current issues . We start with yesterday's cricket match and then we gravitate to Politics, as usual.

Neighbor: Rita Bahugana … she was badmouthing Modi and BJP some time back… and today she's singing dono ke praises!!

Me: Arre Bhai…. look at it this way…. for years she used to cook in Refined Oil and used to sing its praises….. then she realized first hand that the Refined Oil was harming her family and she switched over to Ghee….so now she's damning Refined Oil and praising Ghee!!!

N: She says Rahul's Dalali statement hurt her…. Sonia's Maut ka Saudagar did not hurt her!!!

M: You guys simply fail to understand the gravity of the stupid statement your Baba has made…… he said that Modi was brokering blood of our soldiers…. add to this to the prevailing hurt after the killing of 19 Brave Soldiers!

N: You must understand Rahul is a gentle soul… a great animal lover!!!!

M: But either he does not think and speak or his Advisors are hell bent on getting egg on his face!!!! Yes .. yes I know he's an animal lover…. and this love has caused a lot of heartburn amongst Congis…. imagine wanting them to share biscuits with his dogs… to show their loyalty!!!

N: So what …. I know your Doggy Napoleon is a spoilt brat and he shares your bed-tea biscuits with you…. so there!!!

M: Arre… I feed him biscuits from my plate….. but I do not expect my Man Friday Ramu to do the same!!!! Though very often Ramu comes and sits down in the lawn with me in the morning to eat my brains about politics and carries his glass of Coffee with him….

N: Your servant drinks Coffee????

M: Why is Coffee only for Bosses and Hoi- Polloi are banned from this beverage…. just shows the mindset of Congis!!!! Like whenever there is a function and Congis have to sit on the ground….. the top Leadership sits on those round pillows and rest sit on the ground…. why??? Why do the Top Leaders suffer from hemorrhoids!!!! After years and years of this practice the Staff put the same Pillows for Modi and I hear after a couple of Functions he gave strict instructions that he was able enough and capable of sitting on the ground!!!

N: During UPA's time Arts flourished …..

M: I know you are headed in which direction…… Congress for decades dulled our ability to stand up for the Nation…. under Congress the usage of the 'other cheek' was rampant!!! Under Modi Indians have all of a sudden found 'the other cheek' is just making our enemies more and more aggressive!!!! Now take in Gujarat ......Traders have decided not to sell Chinese Made goods….. fantastic!!!! Had Congress been in power they'd have stunted this people's movement ….. why…… its self defeating funda….. don't rock the boat!!!! Don't react…. be passive!!! They had made us into Doggies who rolled over as per their Orders!!!

N: Under UPA … no inhibitions or restrictions about what you eat … wear …..

M: Whoa….. yes Congis made us live in the Woodstock Era…Hippie era….. now India is realizing its Cultural Heritage…. its Conservativeness ….. Sacrifices made…… Patriotism !!!

N: (gets up and aggressively addresses me) …. You better get your Doggy Napoleon to behave himself …. he barks at me !!! ( And my Neighbor walks out in a huff)

My Wife enters and says: What's wrong with our Neighbor …. he seemed very angry…

M: Another trait of Congis …. when they don't have an answer they lose their tempers and walk out! You get to see this in TV Debates ….. I think the anger is because they see the Ship Sinking and there is nothing they can do!!!

W: Jump overboard….. this Rita Lady just did this!!!!

ITS service is most dynamic service
ITS service is most dynamic service as of now which had managed itself from technical role to techno-administrative role very smoothly and now ITS Officers are everywhere due to their talent. Now their role has also widened from telecom to national security, disaster management, support to law enforcement agencies, call and internet traffic data analysis, illegal setup prevention and much more .So one should always be cautious before questioning the cadre strength that why its strength is seem to be increasing in latest cadre review. Also ITS Officers are now required in every department on deputation as they have already proved their worth due to their technical and administrative experience. So increase number of posts in latest cadre review is need of hour.

Indian "Socialist" Myth Called "Luxury Goods"

India will take centuries to rise above poverty levels if it continues with the discredited jargon of the socialist era by calling some industrial goods as luxury and others for the aam aadmi. Not many years ago a finance minister arraigned for his intellectual arrogance had sprung the most exciting list of six products which put the owner of any one of them in the rich class deserving of special attention of his tax team. Mobile handset was one among them. I used to say that the mobile is an essential item for the poorest and will become available to all citizens as the transistor became an aam aadmi gadget.India needs to remove its socialist blinkers (they were added to the preamble by Indira Gandhi) and understand the significance of all that qualifies as luxury goods in the GST list. Today a small car comes for less than 200000 rupees which is insufficient to buy a motor cycle. Which one of the two is a luxury product? Indian youth aspires to take a quantum jump; government shouldn't block them achieving their ambition by unjustified high taxation to deter them from acquiring these products and making them available only for the moneyed class. These gadgets can make even the aam aadmi a member of the moneyed class because they will improve their skills and get them better jobs. . For this to happen, they need tools like laptops which is the most essential tool in every student's hand as the slate or copy was for my generation. Industrial units producing these goods create quality jobs, incentivize pursuit of knowledge, bring investments into R&D, facilitate import substitution (all medical devices e.g. stunts, white goods etc.), create export demand for Indian goods (hand tools from Nagaur are branded in foreign countries and sold), fill the government coffers, make the country self-reliant (today China mocks us by producing Ganesh statues for us in millions). Finally, aren't the aam aadmi entitled to enjoy luxury products ? Or they are only for exploitation for votes by all and sundry busy inventing newer methods of exploitation and corruption ?

Dismal state of Cricket Administration in India

BCCI has always behaved like a "Sovereign Independent Republic". Its top functionaries consider themselves above the Law. The key positions in the Board and States' units, are occupied either by politicians or those enjoying political patronage. Bloated heads, ego clashes galore. No transparency, accountability in financial transactions. An ivy league of corruption. Cases of financial bungling get pushed under the carpet and the largesse misappropriated. Violations of rules in land purchases, contravention of foreign exchange laws are under investigation. This could not have been possible without the covert support of politicians. If the top brass of BCCI continues to remain obstinate and refuses to comply with Justice Lodha committee's recommendations on reforms, the Board could be sacked. Why should the ruling dispensation not appoint an administrator for carrying out day-to-day functions?

Missing records cannot be used as an excuse to deny information

The appellant stated that he joined the service in 1981 and is on the verge if retirement. He claimed that he has not got even a single promotion during his entire service period, though he is eligible as per rulers. He sought certain documents claiming that due to non-availability of the said documents, the appellant could not get his senior grade and selection grade. The PIO stated that information sought by the appellant is not available. The CIC observed that unless proved that record was destroyed as per the prescribed rules of destruction/ retention policy, it is deemed that record continues to be held by public authority. The CIC pointed out that by practice, 'missing file' cannot be read into as exception in addition to exceptions prescribed by RTI Act as it amounts to breach of Public Records Act, 1993 The CIC directed the PIO, Mr. the Principal and the Asst. Registrar to show-cause why maximum penalty should not be imposed upon them for not providing the information to the appellant and why disciplinary action should not be recommended against them. Further, the public authority was directed to explain why compensation should not be paid to the appellant for harassing him by not providing the requisite information for a long time.

Comments

In many government offices, the quality of record keeping needs a massive overhaul. As per Public Records Act, 1993 action can be initiated for any loss of public records and is punishable with imprisonment up to a term of five years or with fine or both.
