NPA goes up by 2.36%

During the last six years, gross Non Performing Assets (NPAs) in Public Sector Banks have gone up from Rs.44,957 crore in 2009 to Rs.3 lakhs crore in 2015. The level of gross NPAs as percentage of gross advances has also gone up from 2% in 2009 to 4.36% in 2015 and considering huge amounts tied up in accounts under restructuring, are not being considered in this.

Missive from Congi to High Command. .

I have a ardent Congress supporter living a few houses away from mine. Today he dropped in and showed me a letter he had written to Sonia. He looked depressed and lost.

The letter...

Respected Sonia ji Gandhi ji

I come from a family of committed Congress supporters. Right up to my Great Grand Father I trace my Congress roots. But sadly this will end with me as my Children , who at one time did show interest in Congress, today are totally anti Congress.

The trigger for my writing this missive to you is Rahul Baba's speech in Lok Sabha yesterday (02 March).

Rahul Baba's speech shocked me. He seemed to be performing on stage rather than speaking in Parliament. The belligerence was for his 43 MP audience which applauded him ..some perforce if I may say. Had this very speech been given by some other Congi in the same style you would have taken his class ...scolding him ..this is Parliament buster ...not theatre.

I don't know why Congress takes Indians to be a pack of fools. Rahul Baba's speech 'reeked' of this.

For starters how can Congress even utter corruption. Both terms of UPA epitomised corruption. In fact in my opinion Congress should avoid mentioning or arguing on Corruption. Duck ...run away...change the topic ..but don't discuss corruption in Public Domain. And it was Congress who came up with the ultimate free Fair and Lovely ....

On Jobs ... The joke doing the rounds after Rahul Baba's speech.... its only UPA lot that have lost jobs. And this is rankling them. Don't forget it's us, Congress supporters, who have to face these barbs.

We all know Pakistan had a free run during UPA .... in fact it's Modi who has put Pakistan in a cage. Post Rahul Baba's speech the joke doing the rounds is ... Congress out of its own necessities put CBI in a cage and appeasement caged it when it came to Pakistan.

On Rohit Vemula case. ..we know the number of Dalit student suicides that took place when UPA was in power. Don't think the memory of Public is that short lived ... especially on such issues..

On JNU.... Rahul Baba blundered by going there. On one side he says he's against the seditious slogans there and then in the same breath he talks of freedom of expression.

What a stupid analogy... Rahul stating he went to JNU and was shown black flags and because he bore the black flags he held the India Flag high. Pray what else could he have done!!!!

And then he played Narad to the hilt .....he said Modi does not even consult his Ministers. Fact is the Party that has a High Command and where disagreeing with what High Command says is taken as treason is pointing fingers at Modi. And a Party whose own PM did not have a say!!!
And then what does Rahul do when someone from NDA speaks ... he is chewing his nails or mocking a walk out. Remember it's we the Congress supporters who have to justify these stupidities.

Today as Modi spoke you kept looking back ...now the joke doing the rounds is you were looking back to check if Rahul had run away.

Please have pity on Congress supporters. What do they ask from you.....nothing. Totally selfless and committed lot.

Anyway... like I said my Family's Congress connection ends with me. In respect to my Father I am not stopping being a Congress supporter..from active I am now a passive supporter.

I end this missive with a request ...if you wish well for Congress then start thinking beyond Rahul.

"Modi has no parallel"
-Prime Minister Narendra Modi who till a little less than two years ago was beloved of the majority might be losing charm in the opinion of some people but the question is that does any one else including his opponents - Rahul, Mulayam or Lalu - have any charm ?
This question came up in the wake of response of the surfers of whispersinthecorridors.com who were asked - "Is PM Narendra Modi losing his charm ? Is he a changed man ?" While some replied in the affirmative, majority did not agree and some of them even asked who else among Indian politicians can stand parallel to him and suggested 'to see the things in the right perspective'.

Why Joshi is so keen to come back as Chairperson, CBSE ?

The post of Chairperson CBSE is vacant for more than a year for reasons best known to MHRD. It is understood that a committee under the chairmanship of Secretary ,Dept. of Education with four other members to scrutinise the application and recommend name for Chairperson, CBSE has been constituted .All the members including Secretary HRD (who was JS earlier ) have worked with Vineet Joshi, former Chairperson , CBSE. Now Joshi is also a candidate for Chairperson's post !!! Obviously the committee can not be expected to do a fair selection.

Another question arises as to why Joshi is keen to come back as Chairperson, CBSE when he had already spent 10 years on the post ? PMO should look into this entire issue so that a right person is selected as CM, CBSE which is an important educational organisation.

Irregularities in promotions, transfers and appointments in PSU's

The views are absolutely correct. There are caucus groups in these sectors. One should analyse why particular community and particular regions is dominating. One should understand that why some PSU's are loss making. There are vigilance agencies , but what is the use. A person who forged the age documents and qualification has been recommended by PESB. Every employee knows what's happening. Eligibility criteria for selection of CEO's promotions are tailor made. Until and unless government puts honest, sincere and qualified persons from other regions who are in DGM cadre and are retiring within 20 months is enough. I hope PM will look into it.

UPSC conceals facts ?

UPSC is much drowned in secrecy. Even in the age of RTI, it resists giving out information. I know of a case, where it lost in the 2nd appeal in CIC, and then in the single bench in Delhi High Court. Now it has approached a division bench in the same High Court and filed a LPA for condonation of delay. Two years have passed and the LPA is yet to be heard, but the UPSC would not part with the information which is regarding decision on disciplinary proceedings. They took a plea that the parting with information would endanger the life of the officials. CIC ordered to camouflage the names of the officers for the same, but they don't relent. Since they fight on the strength of public money, they will continue even upto the Supreme Court. That is waste of public money. Only because they have constitutional status, they do whatever they want and care a fig for the public.

Include private persons in Committee for organisational restructuring of GoI

Government has set up a Committee to look into the organisational restructuring of Government of India and also look into the methods of recruitment to various high level posts. The Committee consists of only government officials. It is doubtful, whether justice will be done. Some outsiders should also have been there. Before going in for large scale shedding of employees, the main thing would be to do the business process restructuring in the government. Then go in for the gardeners exercise.

No steps to grant reservation in promotion to differently abled

I wish to draw your kind attention on Supreme Court's Order on giving reservation in promotion to the differently abled employees and filling up all back log vacancies.

The Govt. has partially implemented the Court's order on notifying the vacancies to be filled up as back log, but no steps have been taken to grant them reservation in promotion.

Hope your platform "Whispersinthecorridors" may send down an alert on the government for implementing the same.

Fraudulent withdrawal from bank accounts by cloning of ATM

Appellant sought information pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal from bank accounts of various customers including his own by cloning of ATM. He stated that in most of the cases, the money was refunded by the bank and in some cases including the appellant's, the money was not refunded. The appellant sought the names of account holders in whose case the money was refunded and the reasons for not refunding the money in the rest of the cases including his own. The PIO informed the appellant that the amount had been paid to all those customers whose amount had been withdrawn through ATM fraudulently who had account in their branch. The payment could not be made to the appellant, because he had account at the JP Nagar Branch, Bangalore and his case had to be settled by that branch. He further informed that the matter was taken up with the Bangalore Branch for payment to the appellant. The CIC directed the PIO to provide the copy of their letter through which the matter was taken up with the Bangalore branch, advised to resolve the issue and intimate the action taken to the appellant.

Comments

The case provides an example of how an ordinary citizen can make use of the RTI Act for the resolution of his problems.
