Yeh kaise Vidhyaarti...

I am still in Shimla and today my respected friend , a retired senior Bureaucrat, and me meet at a Tibetan Eatery , located between Mall and Lower Bazar, and over Momos and Soups we get chatting.

Respected Friend: All seem to be missing the point...the protests in Ramjas are against the Left and Left of Centre Student Bodies attempts to give Umar Khalid ...an Azaadi proponent and one who is accused of antiIndia sloganeering...mileage...
M: Now they are wailing that Khalid was dropped from the list…...so why these protests...
RF: The protests I think were meant to be symbolic against attempts to get such Speakers in the first place ...but then I think viewing elections in UP purposely the ABVP were forced to react to aggressive moves by the other side……Muslim votes are vital to the Pseudo Secular Parties in UP ...
M: And I simply do not understand why this young girl who is the daughter of a Kargil Martyr brought her Dad into her campus political ambitions ....and she is getting a lot of support from Presstitutes …..but naturally….
RF: I saw it on Twitter...and it seems Indians on Twitter have not liked what she has tweeted...of course realizing her motive ...Sehwag tweeted back ...to her...Pakistan did not kill my Dad the war did...he tweeted ..I did not score a triple century my bat did..someone else very rightly tweeted... Hitler did not annihilate the Jews the gas did...
M: Now she is saying she's being trolled...attacked and threatened ..
RF: We know all the fake accounts of 'Ideologies' ...'Political Supporters' ...etc. She needs to hand over proof with her to the Cops .. it's another kind of Award Wapsi if you ask me...I hear she's now opted to go to the Womens RightsK Body….. ultimately the Body will ask DP to investigate the Tweets and take action…..and whoever has sent her the obnoxious tweets should be dealt with firmly…
M: And the Student Bodies who say they were attacked by ABVP...not handing over the proof they say they have to DP...saying they do not trust DP....just a ploy ...
RF: I am a firm believer ...Politics should be banished from Campuses ....our Nation suffers from a gross overdose of Politics ...
M: Isn't it a bit too early to 'enact' a Thank You shindy in Punjab… ...AAP did it...
RF: In their inexperience they must be feeling this could impact the EVMs....after all they are sitting outside EVM Strong Rooms...
RF: I feel both Badals and Amrinder would actually be very circumspect to lead the State with the SYL issue looming large ...and its SC monitored ...they know the love of the Punjab Farmer for his land and water...Farmers have killed for both...
M: AAP is too engrossed on Power ...can Bhagwant Mann pun Punjab out of this extremely touchy issue …...I am sure if AAP comes to power ...Kejri's visits to the Health Spa will rise...whenever matters will get too hot he will run to Bangalore and lock himself out...after all ...as the Sole Proprietor of AAP his , God Forbid, Punjab CM would seek his Orders to proceed further....
RF: A retired colleague from UP spoke to me the other day and said Presstitutes have fanned out in UP and are Tweeting LRC about the condition of UP but funnily they keep blaming Modi …. whereas it is actually SP's blame….but then …. I know one… who lost his Job post Modi coming to power and has now a downgraded Job ….from being the Karta Dharta …. he is now an Employee…..its personal….
M: And post the Results… if results are on expected lines… I'd expect this lot to go berserk…. Agra could have a few new Patients….. say this to exemplify their hatred for Modi…
RF: Chalo let's go…. Wifey gave me a Shopping list and you will have to help me in the 'cartage' to my home… your honors …joke for the road…
M: In UP some poor Ladies saw Dimple Yadav at close quarters and noticed her Solitaires. One asked the other…Kaan mein yeh kya hai… batti (light) lagaayi hai ka…… the other Lady said… Dhutt …Heera hai ..sunna hai …kya bolte hai… Karod (crore) ka howe hai…. the first lady… Dhutt tehri ki…. yeh kaisa Samaajwaad…. Jitney ka unn ke kaan ka heera aawat hai utne ka toh humaar poora gaon nahi howath hai…. wah re Samaajwaad….

Impact of Media

The role of the international media in the new geopolitical situation and the ever dynamic situation of balance of power with Countries like China , India and other parts of the world which are growing needs to be re-looked so that they acquire a global reach and expand their presence, bureaus, reporters around the world. It is now essential that there is assimilation of views and opinion of people across the globe and an effective debate takes place .

At present there is dominance or leadership of western media by one state or social group over others. For instance ,
BBC-Isn't it the UK's perspective/view on world news ?
CNN-Isn't it America's perspective on world news ?
and others like Reuters, France 24, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, DW Tv, Sky news, Fox News etc.
The views of Countries other than the America and the Europe like Al Zazeera , CCTV(China), Press Tv(Iran) ,Russia Today etc should also be considered. India does not have one global news network.
The diversity should be reflected and should cover a range of standards which includes impartiality, critical analysis when reporting statistics to enable audiences to understand the issues, accuracy, fairness etc.
It is important to have more international news channel particularly from China, India and non-western world for balancing of power.
Entry barriers should come down and hence proliferation of opinion must come in on global issues. A good story has no frontiers.

Tax Compliance Vs Tax Terrorism

Society does not even like the word Tax terrorism. As per media report tax men are likely to knock the door of approx. 10 lakhs people to get the details of cash transactions done during demonetization period. Govt. has to care that the people are not un-necessary troubled or harassed in the name of getting details. Other tax collection like service, excise, custom, VAT etc. should also be taken into account. Lot of media coverage on these accounts. World is watching us and we have to be careful in coverage so that the image and FDI is not affected. Number of incentives are being given to Corporates and Subsidies to others. Similarly we can simplify our income tax rules for maximum tax compliance. We have to create an environment of confidence and trust between the tax payers and tax authorities. If the fear of problems during scrutiny is removed, the people will come forward and pay the taxes and tax compliance will be higher. A simple approach of tax simplification is "the people whose income is less than 5 lakhs, their returns are not subjected to scrutiny". This approach will result in higher tax compliance and increase in revenue. It is expected that the number of return filers will be double in five years. This will one of the biggest achievements of the Govt. It is hoped that there will be no loss of revenue in this approach. Simplify the tax rules and provide necessary education and assistance to tax payers for higher compliance. It is very necessary to have non-adversarial tax regime. We should be open to new ideas. Analyse, understand and implement for the betterment of the country. Let us follow voluntarily tax compliance.

Moral degradation of Doctors

The recent reports in Newspapers about price and reuse of Stents by well known private hospitals indicate the moral degradation of our Doctors. Today the Hospitals are run as Business Enterprises. They are thriving as Governments (both Central and State) have not opened new medical colleges and Hospitals for the last 20 years or so.
It is high time that Government(s) take strict action against these hospitals including punishing the Doctors and owners of such Hospitals.
Government should open more colleges and Hospitals all over the country without any further delay.
