DEBATE

How do you see the two most powerful leaders of the World - Donald Trump and Narendra Modi ?

Some people see Donald Trump as Narendra Modi of the USA. Like Modi in 2014, they say, Trump touched the raw nerve of the US citizens in 2016 to win a decisive victory.

If Modi, with his magnetic electoral campaign, won an absolute majority for his party for the first time in 2014, Trump also staged a spectacular campaign to win the top job for himself.

How do you (surfers of whispersinthecorridors.com) see the two most powerful leaders of the World ?

Think Tank

Acharya Chanakya was greatest Economist , thinker, jyotish, etc. His ideology was not to load citizen by taxes and penalties .On the contrary how to give relief was major task.

1. Today biggest problem is searching for how tax to be loaded and due to deficit financing , leaving penalties is must.
2. And second is Starting of anything without deep thought and starting it, leaving it in middle without finishing it and starting some other thing and it goes on.
3. This is how problem gathers and everything messes up.

First budget that is bereft of populism

For the first time in many years the Budget for 2017-18 has been prepared with serious goals in mind and it stays clear of populism. Improvement of the farm sector ,rural infrastructure, removal of poverty, encouragement to start ups, small and medium industries, skill development, some tax relief to middle class by taking more money from the rich. But the opposition must decry it as directionless. First Nitish Kumar found it so followed by the Chief minister of West Bengal who used the words clueless, issueless etc. Rahul Gandhi of course heard only the couplets Finance minister quoted not the other details of the budget. So for him it was 'shero shayri' budget. Why these leaders missed on the important directions covered by the Budget. Donation to the political parties in the form of electoral Bonds and revealing the names of donors for donation above 2000 instead of 20000 as hither too are big ticket reforms. When will our political leaders display the maturity of praising where praise is due and not always criticise for the sake of criticism alone their rivals in power. At sometime at least they should forget the vote bank politics.

DATE WITH RTI

Filing of RTI Application to know the fate of earlier application

An application was under the RTI Act seeking information regarding action taken on an earlier RTI application and first appeal filed by the Complainant. A reply was sent to him on but the Complainant stated that he did not receive this reply. The Respondents volunteered to send another copy to him. While noting that no further action is due on this RTI application, the CIC observed that the right course of action for an RTI applicant, in the event of the PIO not responding to his RTI application, is to file an appeal to the First Appellate Authority and thereafter, if necessary, an appeal / complaint to the Commission. Instead, the Complainant took upon himself to enquire into the delay on the part of the Respondents in responding to his earlier RTI application by filing yet another RTI application. Filing of such applications is avoidable because the RTI Act provides for appeals / complaint process in the event of unsatisfactory action by Respondents on an RTI application. Such applications needlessly clog the system.

Comments

RTI act is a self contained act which provides for the mechanism to deal with cases where replies have not been received. An applicant should use the modalities provided under the Act which can provide him the best results.
