whispers in the corridors
IAS Aditi Garg belongs to the 2015 batch of the Madhya Pradesh cadre and is currently posted as the collector of Mandsaur, MP. Earlier, she was posted as the Deputy Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office.
Known for her never-giving-up spirit, Aditi is widely admired for her persistence and determination. She first joined the services as an IES(Indian Economic Service) officer , then became an IRS officer (Indian Revenue Service), and finally achieved IAS. Her father, O.P. Garg, is retired IPS officer and served as Director general of police in Madhya Pradesh.
Regarding her vision for Mandsaur, Aditi is focused on promoting tourism and infrastructural development in the district.
Mandsaur famous for its historical heritage and Lord Pashupatinath temple located on the bank of shivna is emerging as a key destination “Mandsaur is developing as a tourist hub. Currently, we have the Forest Retreat Festival at Gandhi Sagar. The Gandhi Sagar area is becoming an adventure hub, and it will soon host India’s second Cheetah project. There’s great potential for tourism in this region,” she explains.
The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) expressway passing from the district gives it a strategic edge. “DMIC goes through the district making Mandsaur a connectivity hub and with emerging infrastructure that is excellent”
She further added how infrastructural development is unlocking new opportunities “Because of increased connectivity, trade and industry are also growing creating employment opportunities for the people of the district.”
Recognizing Mandsaur’s agricultural strength she is also focusing on moving up the value chain in terms of agricultural produce from primary producers to processors. “Food processing is something we are trying to work in the district”
In addition to this Aditi has ambitious long-term goals, particularly in health and education “Health and education indicators are a long-term effort. Consistent work in these areas does result in positive change,” she emphasizes.
