whispers in the corridors

IAS Dr Waghmare Prasad Krishna is a 2011 Batch Officer of Jharkhand cadre and is currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Lohardaga, Jharkhand-a Naxal affected District. His vision for the district is to steer the youth in the right direction and prepare them for a brighter future.
“We want to push the district’s youth towards meaningful career paths so that they don’t face crises or take the wrong path” he says.
Under Dr. Waghmare's leadership, a multifaceted development approach is being implemented for youth, where all key aspects of development are being taken care of—like sports, education, digital literacy, and more.
What makes these efforts truly stand out is that they are being provided entirely free of cost. “All of this is completely free and exclusively for students who cannot afford such facilities,” Dr. Waghmare emphasized.
In the field of sports, training centers have been established across the district. “We have also engaged professional coaches for cricket, football, wrestling, and other sports,” he adds.
For academically inclined students, aspiring to become doctors or engineers, free NEET and JEE coaching has been started.
Further recognising the need to provide quiet, stable and focused environment for the youth, a library has been established in the district dedicated to the preparation of competitive exams. To personally motivate them, Dr. Krishna explained the initiative taken by all the officers in the district: “All of our officers here, who have cleared these exams, take out time to meet the students and guide them.”
Additionally to enhance digital literacy ,a computer training program has been started equipping individuals with much needed skills in today’s world. “This is a Central Government prescribed course for a period of three months, somewhat like a foundation course ” he explained.
Through these simple yet powerful initiatives, Dr. Krishna is guiding the youth toward a brighter, more fulfilling future—one that is set to leave a lasting impact.
