Damodar Valley Corporation hosts HR Meet

The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) organised the HR Meet 2025 on September 5 and 6 at Hotel Pride Plaza, Newtown, Kolkata. Over 200 HR leaders and practitioners from various sectors took part in the two-day event, including industry and academia. The inauguration was led by the Chief Guest, P M Prasad, Chairman & Managing Director of Coal India Limited, alongside notable attendees such as S Suresh Kumar, IAS, Chairman of DVC; Professor K Rangarajan from IIFT Kolkata; Professor K M Agarwal from IISWBM; Kush Singh, Head of Power at CESC Limited; Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director of HR at Coal India Limited; Arup Sarkar, Member of Finance at DVC; and Swapnil Kumar Panda, Member of Technical at DVC.

Throughout the event, 27 papers and case studies were presented by about 45 authors, with participation from around 21 organizations across industry and academia. Notable organizations included Coal India Ltd., Tata Power, HPCL, Hindustan Copper Ltd., Deloitte, Vodafone, XLRI, IIM Ranchi, Heritage Business School, IMI Kolkata, IEM, UEM, IIFT, IISWBM, and CESC Ltd., among others.

In a special initiative on September 5, coinciding with Teachers’ Day, all participating educators were honored for their vital role in shaping young minds and nurturing future leaders. Participants engaged in workshops and sessions covering topics such as productivity, engagement, artificial intelligence, analytics, case studies, and panel discussions on workforce transitions. HR Meet 2025 celebrated the themes of people, innovation, and collaboration, underscoring DVC’s commitment to fostering workplaces where technology enhances human potential.
