CGHS overhaul for Central Govt employees
The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) underwent, biggest revision in 15 years on October 6, 2025, updating rates for treatments, empanelment of hospitals, and coverage for pensioners. This benefits over 1.18 crore employees and pensioners, aligning with the recent 3% Dearness Allowance hike effective July 1, 2025. Whispers suggest this is part of broader pension reforms to reduce fiscal strain amid rising healthcare costs.
