International Tourism Mart 2025 to Be Held in Gangtok from November 13–16 (UPDATED)

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Government of Sikkim, will organize the 13th International Tourism Mart (ITM) at Pangthang SAP Ground, Gangtok, from November 13 to 16, 2025.

The prestigious event aims to showcase the unique tourism potential of India’s North Eastern Region on the global stage. This year’s edition will witness participation from 20 countries, along with the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and Tourism Ministers from all North Eastern States.

The programme will also be graced by Union Minister of Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism, and representatives of the Government of India. Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang, will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural session, scheduled for 6:00 PM on November 14, 2025.

Around 300–400 participants are expected to attend, including international and domestic tour operators, hoteliers, homestay owners, tourism service providers, influencers, media representatives, and opinion leaders.

The four-day programme will feature presentations by North Eastern States, panel discussions, B2B meetings, and the North East Bazaar, which will display the region’s diverse culture, heritage, handicrafts, and cuisines. Cultural evenings and technical tours will also be organized to provide delegates with first-hand experience of Sikkim’s rich tourism offerings.

Unlike open tourism fairs, ITM is a closed B2B event curated specifically for invited delegates by the Ministry of Tourism. Around 100–120 international and national delegates are invited to interact and explore business opportunities with tourism stakeholders from the North East.

The North East Bazaar will serve as a vibrant platform for artisans, entrepreneurs, and local producers to promote traditional crafts, handlooms, and indigenous products—offering valuable marketing exposure and business linkages.

Two major cultural showcases will highlight the artistic vibrancy of the region — a State Cultural Show by Sikkim and a North East Cultural Show curated by the Ministry of Tourism, to be presented during the inaugural and closing ceremonies.

The previous edition of ITM was held in Kaziranga, Assam, while Sikkim last hosted the event in 2015 at Saramsa Garden, Gangtok.
