“Whither India’s strategic autonomy?”

President Trump, the unscrupulous megalomaniac, has unilaterally announced slashing tariffs on indian goods from 50 % to 18 % . Not out of friendship but,by compromising India's strategic autonomy.

This would have massive geo political implications for India which was hitherto getting crude oil from its time-tested friend Russia at discounted rate.

Indo-Russia friendship ties are bound to be adversely affected as India will now be a US ally.

Ties with BRICS members will go for a hit particularly those with Russia ,Brazil,SA and China.

Going further,in absence of any formal trade deals ,how could interests of Indian farmers’ and dairy owners’ be protected, one wonders ?Details of the deal are still to be finalized and released?

Announcing deals through the tweets is meaningless. Where are hard copies of deals, agreements and joint statements signed by the US and India?

Will the US's "Greatest of all trade deals" not adversely impact Indo-EU's "Mother of all deals"?

The public is confused. It must be taken into confidence.

We trust, the ruling dispensation will be circumspect in exercising all options.Tough times are ahead.
