NLC's card secures NABL re-accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025-2017, strengthening commitment to global quality standards (UPDATED)
NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Government of India Enterprise, has successfully secured the renewal of National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accreditation for its Centre for Applied Research & Development (CARD) laboratories in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
The NABL Renewal Accreditation Certificate was formally handed over by Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman & Managing Director, NLCIL, to Neeraj Kumar, Chief General Manager & Unit Head, CARD, on February 9, 2026, in the esteemed presence of R P S Sisodia, Director (Planning & Projects), senior officials, and the entire CARD team.
The renewed accreditation is valid for a period of four years, from January 23, 2026 to January 22, 2030, and covers 115 testing parameters across the disciplines of Mechanical, Chemical, and Biological testing.
The accreditation encompasses CARD’s key laboratories, including:
Air Quality Testing
Water & Effluent Quality Testing
Material Testing
General Analytical Testing
Clay & Paints Testing
Soil Testing
Microbiology
Fuel Quality Testing
Metal Testing
This renewal marks a significant milestone in reinforcing NLCIL’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of testing accuracy, technical competence, and quality assurance. The ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation ensures that CARD’s testing systems adhere to internationally recognized benchmarks in laboratory management, reliability of results, and traceability.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, stated:

The renewal of NABL accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 demonstrates that NLC India Limited’s systems and processes meet globally accepted standards of quality and reliability. Strong certification frameworks build credibility, enhance operational excellence, and strengthen stakeholder confidence. More importantly, they align with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat,’ where globally competitive institutions, robust quality infrastructure, and technological excellence form the foundation of a developed India.
The renewed NABL accreditation further enhances NLCIL’s capability to support its Mining, Thermal Power, and Renewable Energy operations through reliable in-house testing and R&D excellence. It also strengthens environmental compliance, material integrity assurance, and operational efficiency across projects.
